Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there; and I will give you tablets of stone, and the law and commandments which I have written, that you may teach them.”
-Law in Hebrew is written as torah & it means instruction, custom, teaching, statutes, precepts. The first five books of the Bible are the books of law (Pentateuch).
-Just like the spiritual laws, we have various laws in different fields. Laws of finance eg. Law of magnetism states that if you save money today it will save you tomorrow & you will attract more resources. Laws of physics eg. Newton’s law of universal gravitation apply in our lives. For instance, if one chooses to jump from the 12th floor of a building, he dies, thus the laws of gravity apply. These laws occur naturally & when violated, they violate the recipient. These concepts apply to all creative law principles established by God.
-In 1 Pet 2:13, Apostle Peter writes that we should submit to every ordinance of man for the Lords sake. Therefore, the laws of a country are established by the authorities to ensure Gods will of peace & goodwill for one another is achieved. Thus; such laws map out a defined way of life upon which their violation causes punishment.
-Divine laws work in the same way. Moses was given the 10 commandments on mount Sinai as written in the book of Exodus. When Gods laws are broken one feels guilty; as our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit Who lives in us. It is therefore, pertinent that we follow Gods laws so that we may have peace of mind & peace with one another. The grace of God restores us & gives us strength to abide by His statutes.
Lord our Father, we thank You for we have begun yet another week. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness & by Your grace; strengthen us to live by Your divine precepts & teachings. Teach us Your ways & lead us to accomplish our purpose on earth. Amen
Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
-The Lord assured Joshua & the people of Israel protection from their enemies after the death of Moses. The only instruction Joshua received was to observe the law for prosperity in all his ways. Meditating on the Word of God is a key to prosperity & good success. It also keeps our minds occupied with holiness lest we are drawn to evil. One can be successful but good success comes from the almighty Father which includes; proper health, peace, wealth, offsprings etc.
-In John 14:26, But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
-When we read & meditate on the word of God, the Holy Spirit helps us to interpret & understand it better which causes an impact in our lives.
We humbly implore You Father, to give us strength & courage to abide by Your word. Lead us Holy Spirit, as we study the Word to understand & make it effective in our lives so that we may have good success & become prosperous in all our ways. Amen
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
-Jesus fulfilled the law and prophets; for the prophets spoke of the coming of the Messiah & He came. The law was fulfilled in Him thus, having been set free from sin, we became slaves of righteousness (Rom 6:18). Since we have all sinned & fallen short of the glory of God, by His grace; we have been justified freely through the redemption in Him.
-Just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” (Gal 3:6), Whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Lord our Father, we thank You for Your everlasting love & mercy upon us. We know that we have sinned & fallen short of Your glory, forgive us. Instil in us firmer faith that it may be accounted to us for righteousness. May Your righteousness be the light of our lives always. Amen
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
-Apostle Paul enlightens us of the fruit of the Spirit; against which there is no law. For if we are led by the Spirit, we are not under the law (Gal 5:18), as the Spirit wars against the flesh. We are created in the image & likeness of God, thus we should emulate Him. We also know that the Holy Spirit lives in us & gives life to our mortal bodies (Rom 8:11). Therefore, if we live in the Spirit, we should walk in the Spirit.
May Your fruit Holy Spirit, shed light to our paths so that we may live in Your wisdom. Help & strengthen us to live as You have instructed us. By Your tender mercies & everlasting love renew a steadfast spirit within us. We praise You & glorify You. Amen
The people answered Him, “We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?” Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.
-The dominion of Christ is everlasting (Dan 7:14, Ps 89:36, Ps 110:4). Just as Moses lifted the serpent in the wilderness & the people received healing, the son of man was lifted so that those who believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:14-16). Jesus is the light of the world, he who follows Him shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life (John 8:12).
-There are various laws in different fields which when violated, they violate the recipient just like spiritual laws. These laws were established by God to ensure there is peace within one self & among others. The grace of God helps us to abide by His laws.
-The law of the Lord is the key to prosperity & good success. When we meditate on the word; the Holy Spirit helps us to interpret & understand it better which causes a positive impact in our lives.
-The righteousness of God apart from the law has been revealed; being witnessed by the law & prophets through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe in Him. We have all sinned & fallen short of the glory of God, but by His blood we have redemption in Him. Just as faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness, we are called to believe in Him so that we may have eternal life.
-There is no law against the fruit of the Spirit. The Spirit wars against the flesh which harbours passions & desires. The Holy Spirit lives in us, thus if we live in the Spirit we should walk in the Spirit.
Lord our Father, we thank You for the love & mercy that You showed us by dying for our sins. Thank You for this far that we have come, it is only by Your grace. We call on You to forgive us all our sins & deliver us from our evil passions & desires. As we celebrate this Easter, may Your mercy, love & grace abide in our hearts; so that we may realize Your true nature in our lives. Strengthen our faith in You that we may love You & those around us; like You have always wanted us to. May Your light shine upon us that we may be prosperous in all things & have good success. We praise You & lift Your name high forever. Amen
