THEME: DELIGHT IN THE LORD

Psalms 1:1-3 NKJV

“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.”

INSIGHT

–Delighting in the Lord also entails having supreme pleasure in His law and meditating on it day and night. This man will be planted like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit in each season, and His leaves never wither, and he prospers in all they do. Delighting in the Lord produces spiritual stability and fruitfulness in our lives. When we delight in the Lord, we are content, satisfied, and sustained, even in hard seasons of suffering and trials.

PRAYER

We love You dear Lord and God and exalt Your holy name. We sought You and take heed to Your voice. We do not wander from Your commandments, for Your word we have hidden in our hearts that we might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O LORD and God, may You teach us Your statutes and grant us the grace to keep them. We rejoice in the way of Your testimonies as much as in all riches. We meditate on Your precepts and contemplate Your ways. We will delight ourselves in Your statutes and do not forget Your word. Blessed are the meek for we shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for we shall be filled. All glory, honor, power and praise belong to You dear Jesus now and forever. Amen
