THEME: GOD GIVES VICTORY

1 Samuel 17:45-47 NKJV

“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.”

INSIGHT

– David went to battle with Goliath the Philistine giant without formal military training. David demonstrated great faith in the faithfulness of the Living God. In all honesty, what saves Israel at this point is the faith of someone who no one else would have considered a formidable foe against this Philistine giant. David had a tremendous faith. He never once doubted that God had already given him the battle. We are called to have great faith in the Lord despite the challenges or situations that we might be faced with in life for God is a Mighty Warrior and has promised never to leave us nor forsake us.

PRAYER

We praise You LORD our God and exalt Your holy name. We praise You LORD our God and sing praises to Your name while we have our being. We do not put our trust in princes nor in a son of man in whom there is no help. LORD Jesus You save us with Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, for You have favored us. You are our King, O God; our Mighty warrior, may You command victories for us and help us. May You grant us victory in every sphere of our lives and help us to move from one glory to the next. We worship You and give You praise, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen
