THEME: DELIGHT
Romans 12:9-10 NIV
“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
INSIGHT
–To delight in love for one another is a foundational command and practice that should be inculcated into every believers life.
SUMMARY
The Hebrew terms for delight is hepes which means to bend towards or incline towards. Firstly, when we delight ourselves in the Lord, He gives us our hearts desires (Psalms 37:4-5). Secondly, to delight in the will of God is to keep His law in our hearts (Psalms 40:8). Thirdly, when we humble ourselves before the Lord, we delight in abundance of peace (Psalms 37:11). Fourthly, our love for one another does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth (1 Corinthians 13:6). Lastly, the Lord delights in us with gladness and rejoices over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17).
PRAYER
We bless Your name Oh Lord our God and enthrone You forever and ever. You are Great and Awesome in wonder. You are Good Lord and Your mercies endures forever. May You forgive us every sin and trespass and wash us with Your precious blood. May You answer all our prayers and respond to all our hearts desires. May You do exceedingly abundantly all that we may think of or imagine. May You bless us and keep us, may You turn Your face towards us and be gracious unto us, may You shine Your countenance unto us and give us peace. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forevermore. Amen
