Isaiah 58:6 NIV
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?”
INSIGHT
–One of the main purpose of fasting and prayer is to breaking every chain of wickedness and undo heavy burdens. Prophet Isaiah prophesied of the power of Jesus Christ infilled with the Holy Spirit in Isaiah 61:1-2. As believers the Holy Spirit enables us to preach good tidings to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, opening the prison to those who are bound in the name of Jesus Christ.
PRAYER
We praise You and worship You precious Holy Spirit. We enthrone You and adore You. Holy Spirit our Advocate You teach us all things and will remind us everything, we give You praise. May You fill us afresh with Your fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self control. May You impact us with Your gifts of wisdom, knowledge, understanding and other gifts as You please for Your glory and honor. May You teach and help us to fast and pray effectively, and respond to all our requests. We pray all this believing and trusting in Jesus mighty name. Amen
