THEME: CALL TO JESUS

Luke 18:35-43 NKJV

Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging. And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him, saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.”

INSIGHT

A blind man unaware of Jesus passing by made an enquiry and was informed that Jesus was in Jericho. He began shouting for help in anticipation that Jesus would hear and see him. Despite the opposers who condemned him and told him to keep quiet, he kept calling to Jesus. The blind man received his sight at a miraculous encounter and he rejoiced in the Lord and followed Him, and the people praised the Lord for the great testimony of faith.

SUMMARY

Call to Jesus is a call to every human being believer and otherwise. Firstly, Jesus is our Savior and whoever calls on His name shall be saved (Romans 10:13). Secondly, Jesus hears us and answers us and requires that we call upon Him and He will show us great and mighty things that we do not know (Jeremiah 33:3). Thirdly, When we call upon Jesus He delivers us from our fears (Psalms 34:4). Fourthly, Jesus cares for us and requires that we call upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). Sixth, when we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, He adds unto us all things (Matthew 6:33-34). Lastly, when we call upon Jesus, He answers us, He delivers us from trouble, He honors us, He satisfies us with long life and shows us His salvation (Psalms 91:15-16).

PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus You are Faithful and Your fathfulness endures to all generations. Father we call on You today with humily in our hearts that You may hear us and help us. May You hear all our prayers and answer us. May You provide for all our needs. May You heal all our wounds and those who are sick and suffering. May deliver all those who are oppressed, depressed and the street families. May You deliver us from the snares of the evil one and from every accusation against us. May You open doors for us and prosper all our ways. May open double doors for us, break every barrier, break every door of bronze and bar of iron, grant us all the desires of our hearts, the treasures of darkness and hidden riches. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forevermore. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our life and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord, forever and ever. Amen
