THEME: DRAW NEAR TO GOD

Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

INSIGHT

–The Lord is gentle and lowly at heart and He calls us to draw near to Him with our yokes and burdens, for His yoke is easy and burden is light.

SUMMARY

Draw in Hebrew is written as nagash and engizō in Greek which means to come near, approach, or step close to someone. Moses drew near to God through the thick darkness where God was as the people stood afar off (Exodus 20:21). We are called to draw near to God with boldness to the throne of grace where we obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). It is good to draw near to God by putting our trust in God and declare all His works (Psalms 73:28). When we draw near to God He draws near to us through humility, cleansing our hands from sin and purifying our hearts from double mindedness, and He will lift us up (James 4:8-10).

PRAYER

We give thanks to You LORD, for You are good, and Your mercies endures forever. We give thanks to You God of gods for Your mercy endures forever. We give thanks to You Lord of Lords, for Your mercy endures forever. To You who alone does great wonders for Your mercy endures forever. We turn to You with all our heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning. We rend our hearts and return to You LORD our God, for You are gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and great kindness; and You relent from doing harm. May You do exceedingly abundantly more than what we can think or imagine. May You help and deliver us by Your grace, mercy and favor. We pray this believing and trusting in Jesus mighty name. Amen
