Psalms 23:1-6 NKJV
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”
INSIGHT
–The Psalmist presents Jesus as our Good Shepherd mirrored in John 10:11 who gives His life for His sheep, our Great Shepherd who makes us complete in every good work through His precious blood (Hebrews 13:20-21) and our Chief Shepherd who will appear and give His elect the crown of glory that never fades away (1 Peter 5:4). Our Shepherd assues us of His constant love, provision, care, protection, sustainance and His enduring goodness and mercy always.
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus You are our strength and shield; our hearts trust in You and we find help only in You. Our hearts greatly rejoice in You, and with song we praise You. Lord we appreciate You for loving us, providing for us, healing us, guiding us in Your truth, preserving us, and blessing us. Lord You are our strength and our saving refuge. Save us, bless us and shepherd us in Your ways of justice and righteousness. May You deliver all the street families from their troubles and set them free merciful Savior. Surely Your goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in Your house forever and ever. Amen
