“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.”
INSIGHT
–A broken and a contrite heart explains the conviction of genuine grief over wrongdoing rather than just feeling sorry for being seen, getting caught or facing the consequences. God values a changed heart above outward religious performances. God embraces those who come to Him in genuine humility. He never pushes away a sincere and repentant spirit.
PRAYER
Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me, bless Your holy name. Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all Your benefits, Who forgives all our iniquities, Who heals all our diseases, Who redeems our lives from destruction, Who crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies our mouth with good things, so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Dear Lord Jesus You are near to those who have a broken heart and save such as have a contrite spirit. May You help us dear Lord Jesus to abound more and more in You and walk in a manner please You following Your commandments by grace. We worship You Lord and give You praise, and it is in Jesus name we pray. Amen
