Genesis 11:6 NKJV
“And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.”
INSIGHT
–The power of unified human effort is outlined as beneficial to not only believers but all people. Initially, the entire earth had one language and one speech and there was hamorny until they developed a dream to reach the heavens. The dangers of unchecked ambition and pride, as seen in the subsequent scattering of people and confusion of languages at the Tower of Babel. It is clear from their progress that if anything is in the God’s plan, then whatever we desire to do when we are united, then nothing can be hindered from us.
PRAYER
This is the day that You have made Lord, we rejoice are glad in it. Your mercies are new each morning dear Lord Jesus, have mercy on us and forgive us every sin and iniquity. Dear Lord You say in Your word that, it is good and pleasant when we live together in unity. It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For where there is unity Lord You bestow Your blessings unto us, even life forevermore. May You unite us Lord in every sector and area of our lives and nation. May You unite all families, every community and nation by Your precious blood. Bind us together Lord with codes of love that cannot be broken. We honor You Lord and exult Your name, and it is Jesus name we pray. Amen

“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.”
INSIGHT
–The early church demonstrated God’s love through unity of believers and lived as a testimony of selflessness. They shared their possessions among themselves and those who were in need were supported fully by sacrificial giving, and therefore witnessed great grace and power. This is a testament of true religions where orphans and widows are visited and empowered (James 1:27). It is where the church needs to be, not as a building but community of believers, supporting each other as they have need.
PRAYER
Lord You are Great and Merciful, You are Loving and Compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. You have said in Your word that we should do nothing out of selfish ambitions or conceit, but in lowliness of mind esteeming others better than ourselves, looking out not only for our own interests, but also for the interests of others. Lord we need Your help in our daily lives and conduct. May You fill us with love and compassion, and grace to serve others selflessly. May You help us to reach out to the less fortunate in our society and to dwell in pure love for one another. May You help the church to grow in love and unity, and to step up in their mandate for the community. May You forgive us all our sins and iniquities and deliver us from all evil. We love You dear Lord Jesus and give You praise, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen

“Behold, bless the Lord, All you servants of the Lord, Who by night stand in the house of the Lord! Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the Lord. The Lord who made heaven and earth Bless you from Zion!”
INSIGHT
–There is power in united fellowship inviting the presence of God. Matthew 18:20 reminds us that, where two or three are gathered together in the name of the Lord, He is there in our midst. The church of Acts encouraged fellowships, and the apostles and about three thousand new converts continued steadfastly in doctrine and fellowship, breaking of bread and in prayers (Acts 2:41-42). The value of fellowship with one another fosters connection and strengthens unity, encouragement through shared burdens and joy, ensures mutual support, strengthens unity and sustained presence of the Holy Spirit
PRAYER
We lift up our hands to You Lord and bless Your name. Only You Lord made the heavens and earth. We bless Your name forever. We surrender our hearts to You. We surrender our thoughts to You. We surrender our souls to You. We surrender all to You Lord, Maker of the heavens and the earth. May You re-ignite the fire of fellowship in us. May You unite all churches and ministry in Your true word and doctrine. May You unite every home through fellowship in the family units. May You God of peace, patience and comfort grant us unity in fellowship with one mouth and heart, glorifying You and praying through faith, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
INSIGHT
–The value of unity in every association is vivid from the main scriptures. An exhortation to believers guided by principles of shared vision, love and forgiveness. On the same wavelength, uniting with each other in mind and thought, in the newness of mental attitude (Ephesians 4:23), and given to defined collaboration, while walking together in agreement (Amos 3:3). God also invites us to forgive one another in the place of conflict, grievance and disagreement. We are called to forgive one another as the Lord forgave us, putting on love through perfect unity (Colossians 3:13-14).
PRAYER
We thank You Abba Father for Your love and peace upon us. Thank You for what You have done and what You continue to do unto us. May You establish us in Your peace and freedom that comes through love and forgiveness. May You help us to forgive all those who offend us and cause reconciliation in our families, relationships, communities, churches and nation, in Jesus name. Merciful Father, may You forgive our trespasses too. May You empower all the youth to unite even as we head to the general elections to achieve political liberation. May You grant us rest and prosperity in our nation, in Jesus mighty name. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen

John 17:20-23 NKJV
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”
INSIGHT
–Jesus delivered the High Priestly prayer, where He intercedes not only for His disciples but for all future believers. Jesus prays for unity in the body of Christ, rooted in the unity of the Trinity.
SUMMARY
Unity in Hebrew is written as echad and achdut in Greek which means a unified entity or oneness. Genesis 2:24, reveals unity in marriage when Adam and Eve become one flesh. God calls each one of us to live in unity with one another. The early church believers were one in heart and mind, and they shared everthing that they had and there was no needy person among them (Acts 4:32-35). The current church should also be united and share their resources emulating God’s word. The people were one and spoke one language when they built the tower of Babel. The Lord says that, when the people are united whatever they begin to do; nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them (Genesis 11:6). God calls us to be united perfectly in mind and thought, that there should be no division among us, and agree with one another in what we say and do (1 Corinthians 1:10). God calls us to be completely humble and gentle; patient and bearing each one with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:2-3). Each one then should make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” (Romans 14:19).
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus, You are our God, our Father, and we are Your children. Thank You for loving us and for choosing us. May You align our will with Your purposes. May Your align us with Your Heart and Mind that we may be more like You dear Lord Jesus. May You preserve us and bless us, in our coming in and going out together with our families. May You keep us safe from all accidents, diseases, destruction, delay and other forms of harm. Dear Lord Jesus, may You forgive us all our sins and trespasses and help us to forgive all those who offend us. May You unite us with our families and all citizens in our calling for Your purposes and will. May You grant Your true salvation to us and all people dear merciful Savior. We surrender our lives to You, our families, marriages, businesses, future, ministries, legacy, influence, future and nation unto You dear Jesus. Lord may You do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask of or think of according to the power that is at work in us. Lord we trust in You and exalt You. We believe that You are able to do more than we can think of or imagine. We believe that we shall be extremely fruitful since we abide in You and You in us. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in Your house forever. May You bless us and keep us loving Father, may You shine Your face upon us and be gracious to us. May You lift up Your countenance towards us and give us peace. Amen
