THEME: TRUST IN GOD
Jeremiah 17:5-8 NKJV
“Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
INSIGHT
–It is catastrophic to trust in man for a curse befalls the recipient. The man who trusts in another man is likened to a shrub in the desert. It is prudent for a man to trust in God which activates God’s blessings upon our lives. The man is likened to a tree that is planted in water and it will not dry up during hot seasons but yield fruit in all seasons.
PRAYER
We magnify Your name dear Lord Jesus and exalt You for You are indeed good and faithful. We bless Your name Lord because You have heard the voice of our supplications. Lord You are our strength and shield; our hearts trust in You, and we are helped. Our hearts greatly rejoice and with our songs we praise You. Lord You are our strength and our saving refuge of Your anointed. May You save us and bless Your inheritance. May You shepherd us and bear us up forever. May You teach us and help us trust in You in all situations. We worship You and give You praise, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen
