THEME: GOD’S MERCY
Ephesians 2:4-5 NKJV
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),”
INSIGHT
–It is only by the grace of God that we have received the gift of salvation, which has been given to us by His great mercy.
SUMMARY
God’s mercy is defined as the compassionate, steadfast love that withholds the punishment humanity deserves and instead offers grace, restoration, and forgiveness. It is considered a fundamental aspect of God’s nature and often described as being “rich in mercy” and “multitude of His mercy” provided in God’s temple (Psalms 5:7), rather than just an action. Mercy provides a way for sinners to be forgiven, offering new beginnings, protection, and salvation, frequently highlighted by the phrase “new every morning and great is God’s faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23). King Hezekiah sort for God’s mercy by tearing his clothes, covering himself with sackclothes and going into the house of the Lord, and he got his request (2 Kings 19:1-3). The woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus for prosecution, and Jesus said if any one has not sinned let them throw the first stone (John 8:3-11).
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus we give You praise and adoration. We thank You for Your mercies that are new each morning, great is Your faithfulness. You are God and no one can be likened to You. Thank You for Your love, we love You. Thank You for Your grace. We give thanks to You for You are good and Your mercies endures forever. Save us, O Lord our God. We bless Your name our God Almighty, God of Israel for Your mercies endures from everlasting to everlasting. May You bless us and provide for all our needs. Amen
