THEME: LOOK AHEAD

Luke 9:62 NIV

Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

INSIGHT

In order that a plowman may accomplish his work, it is valuable to look onward to be intent on his work not to look back with regret that he undertook it. Lot’s wife looked back at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:26). She possible regretably reminisced on her past life, her properties, valuables or already missed her former friends. Jesus requires complete, undistracted commitment from us, like a farmer whose eyes must stay fixed forward to plow a straight row, not looking back at worldly things or past comforts, or their service to God’s kingdom will be crooked and unfit for purpose. We are called to be single-mindedness, prioritizing God’s call and commitment to salvation above all else, without hesitation or divided loyalty, much like Elisha left everything behind to follow Elijah.

PRAYER

Jesus You are the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father apart from through You. Dear Lord Jesus You are the way to eternal life, we believe in You and trust in You. We call on You for help to guide establish us in Your truth and ways, and enable us to be commited to You completely. Lord You are the One who sees us and answers us, may You respond to all our prayers and hearts desires. Father You say in Your word that, whatever things we ask when we pray, believe that we receive them, then we will have them. We thank You and give You praise Jesus, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen

Blessed Thursday
