THEME: FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT
John 16:13-15 NIV
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
INSIGHT
-Jesus had to go back to the Father so that the Holy Spirit may come. One of the functions of the Holy Spirit is to guide and lead us into all truth. If we are led by the Spirit of God, then we are sons of God. For we did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but we received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father (Romans 8:14-15). The Holy Spirit guides us through the word of God which is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, that we may focus on the things of the Spirit and not the flesh. The Holy Spirit enables us to remain righteous, and when are we weak and do not know what to pray, He intercedes for us with groaning that cannot be uttered.
PRAYER
Teach me Holy Spirit to do Your will, for You are my God. Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. You are our Helper and our Guide, may You lead us with Your eye. You are our God in You we put our trust, You are our Good Shepherd and Shield, all our hope is in You. May You deliver us from all evil and guide us on the way we should go. May You make river in the desert, and a pathway in the wilderness. May You make all the crooked paths straight and prosper us in all spheres of our lives. May You protect our children as they go home on mid-term. May You guide all our children to always do Your will. We worship You Lord Jesus and praise Your holy name now and forever. Amen
