THEME: LORD HOLD MY HAND
Acts 11:20-21 NIV
“Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus. The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.”
INSIGHT
–The hand of the Lord was upon the disciples and when they were scattered after Stephen’s death, they preached to the Greeks, and many came to Christ.
SUMMARY
The hand of the Lord is visible in various Biblical references and have diverse meanings and implications. The hand of the Lord upon us offers help as God calls us to be bold and not to fear (Isaiah 41:13). Nehemiah the governor of Jerusalem, with great boldness began to build the ruined the walls of Jerusalem and the hand of the Lord was good upon him (Nehemiah 2:17-18). The Lord held the right hand of king Cyrus and opened double doors for him, breaking every obstacle and releasing treasurers of darkness and hidden riches of secret places ( Isaiah 45:1-3). The hand of the Lord also symbolizes judgement, for it is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31). The Lord holds our hands and delivers us when we are cast down, He upholds us, for the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord (Psalms 37:23-24).
PRAYER
Abba Father our Father, we worship You and give You praise, You are our God and Savior. You are our Father and King. You are the One who was, who is and who is to come. You are our dear Lord and Savior, our King of glory, our good Shepherd. May You hold our hands in every purpose and vision that You have called us to partake in. May You bring many to Yourself in everything that You have called us to do and achieve. You are indeed our good God and merciful Savior; may You cause salvation to reach the unreached. May You do a new thing for us and unto us. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us now and forever more. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. Amen
