THEME: GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS
Psalms 16:5 NKJV
“O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.”
INSIGHT
–This psalm of David outlines an imagery of the Levites who had no heritage of land in Canaan for God was their inheritance. As priests and kings to God, then we are called to prefer God as our primary source, satisfaction, sustenance, protection and ultimately All in all.
SUMMARY
Generational blessings is a vital thematic exposition that denotes intentional legacies of faith, values, obedience, and stewardship that impact children, grandchildren, great grand children and beyond. Firstly, God, is faithful to keep His covenants and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments (Deuteronomy 7:9). Secondly, the person who fears the Lord and delights greatly in His commandments is blessed and descendants are guaranteed of greatness on earth and generations blessed (Psalms 112:1-2). Thirdly, a good man leaves and inheritance to his children’s children but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous (Proverbs 13:22). Fourthly, the sins of the fathers are never to be transferred to their children but each one should die for their own sins (2 Chronicles 25:4). Lastly, God calls us to believe in Jesus Christ with our entire households, and we will be saved (Acts 16:31-33).
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus we worship You for You our God and none can be compared to You. You are worthy Lord to take the scroll and to open its seals for You were slain and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation and have made us kings and priests to our God and we shall reign on the earth. Abba Father, You deserve all the glory, honor, power and praise. You are great God, our Lord and Savior, Your mercies endures forever, we worship You. May You forgive us all our sins and iniquities together with our generations and cleanse us with Your precious blood. We declare today that no weapon fashioned against us shall prosper and every tongue that is raised against us in judgement shall not prevail in Jesus name. May You Abba Father supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. May You bless us and release every generational blessing upon us together with our heritage. It is by Your grace that we shall leave a worthwhile legacy and inheritance to our children’s children and many generations to come. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forevermore. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. Amen
