THEME: SONS OF GOD

Galatians 3:26-27 NKJV

“For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”

INSIGHT

–Our faith in Christ Jesus makes us the children of God, not by our acts or through the law but by grace lest anyone should boast. God the Father has predestinated us as a chosen generation through the adoption of children, and has secured and laid up this blessing for us in the covenant of Abraham as his seed according to the promise. Christ by redemption has made way for our reception as partakers through the Spirit of God and in consequence of our sonship that we should follow after our Father.

SUMMARY

Sons of God is a prime thematical exposition throughout scriptures. This theme appears in various contexts throughout the Bible, carrying different meanings depending on the passage. Sons of God in Genesis 6:1-4 describe a season  when Nephilim or fallen angels saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and they took as wives whomever they chose. Job 1:6-10 discloses angelic beings present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. Creation is earnestly waiting in expectation for the revealing of sons of God (Romans 8:19), in the present and eternal life. God requires that we express peace as sons of God (Matthew 5:9). God also calls us to love our enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and our reward will be great, and we will be sons of the Most High (Luke 6:35-36). God predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:5-7).  

PRAYER

Abba Father, our Father how great are You Lord in all the heavens and the earth. We are indeed Your children thank You for making us Your special possession, a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, that we may declare Your praises for You called us out of darkness into his wonderful light. Thank You dear Jesus for loving us and dying for us on the cross for our sins. May You forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. May You protect us from all evil, provide for us, sustain us and bless us with every good thing. We declare that no weapon fashioned against us shall prosper and every tongue that raises against us in judgement we shall condemn in Jesus name. Father may You provide all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in Your house Lord forever and ever. Amen
