THEME: GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS

Acts 12:11-12 NKJV

And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.” So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying.”

INSIGHT

When Herod was hostile to the apostles with the intention of pleasing the Jews, God remained faithful to James and the brethren. He sent an angel to rescue James from prison where he was bound in chains and locked up behind an iron gate. The church prayed for James and he was delivered from prison through His merciful love. We are called to pray for one another as the body of Christ in whatever need for the Lord hears and answers our prayers.

SUMMARY

The Greek word for faithfulness is pistos which is derived from the word faith that portrays the concept of steadfast reliability or one who inspires confidence because promises match performance. Faithfulness is an attribute of God that portrays the concept of dependability or trustworthiness and subjective loyalty. Jesus Christ often demonstrated faithfulness through the gospel message, and to believers who walk in covenant integrity. God’s faithfulness endures to all generations for He established the earth and it abides (Psalms 119:90). God is merciful and faithful to His children and is patient to direct them in His ways lest anyone should perish. Saul a persecutor of Christians was restored, his name was changed to Paul and God allowed Him to serve his purpose. Through God’s mercies we are not consumed, for His compassions fail not, they are new every morning and great is His faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23). God enacted His faithfulness and uprightness to the faithful and just, all His precepts are trustworthy (Psalms 111:7-8). We are called to discover and embrace God’s faithfulness which is unfathomable and endures to all generations.

PRAYER

God You are faithful and just, full of love and mercy. You are our Lord and God who is always with us. You are our God who hears our prayers and answers. Lord You make everything beautiful at Your time, for You are perfect in all Your ways. May Your great faithfulness abide in us forever. May You show us Your mercy and deliver us from every evil and plans of wickedness. May You open double doors for us to prosper and establish us in faith. Great is Your faithfulness Oh Lord our God. You are faithful and just to keep all Your promises. May You make us exceesingly fruitful in every area of our lives, families, work places, communities, churches and nation. We are indeed kings and priests to You Lord and shall be victorious in all things, and kings shall come from us. May You do only that which You can do and open the flood gates of heaven upon us. May You bless us and keep us dear Lord Jesus, may You make Your face to shine upon us and be gracious unto us, make You shine Your countenance unto us and grant us peace. Amen
