Binding his donkey to the vine, And his donkey’s colt to the choice vine, He washed his garments in wine, And his clothes in the blood of grapes.
-In Hebrew, blood is written as dam & it means kinship, bloodshed, affinity, life
-Jacob was addressing his sons & told them what would befall them in the last days. His 12 sons were the tribes of Israel. In this verse he was addressing Judah who was in the lineage of Jesus (Mat 1:2).
-This is a picture of Christ washing away our sins in His blood. Binding the donkey to the vine is a figure of us being anchored to Christ(The True Vine).
-In Rev 1:5, Christ washed us from our sins in His own blood. Rev 7:14, washing robes in the blood of the Lamb makes them white. Rev 19:13, Christ rode a white horse with a robe dipped in blood.
Jesus our Father, wash us with Your blood & cleanse us from all unrighteousness. By the power of Your blood we are set free from all iniquity. Let us be anchored on You always, our Lord & Savior & seek Your direction in all matters. Amen
