THEME: UNITY IN PRAYER

Acts 1:12-15 NIV

”Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s walk from the city. When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty)“

INSIGHT

After the ascension of Jesus Christ, the disciples waited on the Lord in prayer and in one accord. All the disciples were present apart from Judas, and huge number of men and women gathered in the upper room. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in different tongues during Pentecost. This was after the ascension of Jesus which occurred on the Eastern side of mount Olives between Bethany and Jerusalem. The disciples witnessed this and continued to pray constantly and God moved mightily in their lives and the regions which they were called to preach.

PRAYER

We rejoice in You Lord the God of our salvation. We will be glad and rejoice in You Lord and shout for joy, for You are our God and have always been with us. When we were lost You led us to the path of righteousness and in Your Light we see light. May You bless the church our dear Master and Savior that none will be lost but all will see Your Light come to You. May the church continue in prayer in one accord and reach the unreached for the glory and honor of Your name. May we walk in power and in favor that Your kingdom purposes will be fulfilled in us and through us for Your glory Lord. May You fill all people with Your Holy Spirit and the gift of faith that we have live in hope of Your second coming Jesus Christ. May You save us from destruction of the floods and diseases that lead to painful experiences. May You be with us and shield us together with our loved ones from all evil and provide for all our needs. May You bless all the street children, orphans, widows, widowers, fatherless and save all Your people. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen
