Exodus 13:12-13 that you shall set apart to the Lord all that open the womb, that is, every firstborn that comes from an animal which you have; the males shall be the Lord’s. But every firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb; and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. And all the firstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem.

Their firstborn’s were redeemed with a lamb otherwise killed by breaking of the neck to avoid shedding of unclean blood. Firstborn’s of man were redeemed with 5 shekels in excess of the Levites, that is (273*5=1,365) shekels which was given to Aaron & his sons (Num 3:47-50).
PRAYER: Thank you Jesus for redeeming us from sin through Your blood. Purify our thoughts & hearts from all unrighteousness. Lead us in all things as we start a new week. Amen
Leviticus 25:25-28 ‘If one of your brethren becomes poor, and has sold some of his possession, and if his redeeming relative comes to redeem it, then he may redeem what his brother sold. Or if the man has no one to redeem it, but he himself becomes able to redeem it, then let him count the years since its sale, and restore the remainder to the man to whom he sold it, that he may return to his possession. But if he is not able to have it restored to himself, then what was sold shall remain in the hand of him who bought it until the Year of Jubilee; and in the Jubilee it shall be released, and he shall return to his possession.
INSIGHT: -The year of Jubilee (50th year) was a year of liberty where everyone returned to his possession & family, which was their rightful inheritance. If he is unable pay, then it was restored to him in the year of jubilee.

Ephesians 5:14-17 Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.” See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
INSIGHT: -In Prov 16:9, A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
-Apostle Paul says that we should awake from sleep, arise from those who lack vision, walk in light & understand the will of God. Redeeming time in this context means taking control of our time since everyone in the world has 24 hours in a day, the difference is how we use it. Therefore, we should make plans in line with our passion/gifts, submit them to the Lord & He will ordain our steps.
PRAYER: We submit all our plans to You Father, as we start a new year. Lead us in Your light to redeem time, walk in wisdom & do Your will. Amen
