The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
-Middle in Hebrew is written as gav & it means half, midst, interior, heart, core, interception, central, medium, moderate, median, mean, medial, intermediate, interim
-The garden of Eden had numerous trees but in the middle were two trees, the tree of life & tree of the knowledge of good & evil. God commanded the man to eat of every tree including the tree of life except the tree of the knowledge of good & evil lest he dies (Gen 2:16-17). This means man was immortal & the tree of life had the ability to give eternal life (Gen 3:22).
-Christ, our resurrection & life asks us to believe in Him who defeated death. That he who dies shall live & he who lives & believes in Him shall never die (John 11:25-26). Through His righteousness we are made righteous & that we may partake of the tree of life (Prov 11:30) & enjoy His grace forevermore. When we make Christ the center of our lives by loving Him & keeping His word, the Father loves us, comes to us & make a home in our hearts (John 14:23).
Jesus, You are the center of our lives. Teach us to love You with all our hearts, minds & souls. We thank You & praise You for we have seen another day. We know there are others who did do make it, may they rise again in paradise & comfort their loved ones in Your peace. We submit our hearts to You, fill us with Your love so that we may focus more on life in You, & bestore upon life in abundance, to see many generations to come. Amen
Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left. Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.
-Samson had faith in God, having experienced His power on various occasions including killing a lion with his bear hands. Having the zeal of God as a judge of Israel, his prayer purpose was to vindicate the whole commonwealth of Israelites against the Philistines. Before his birth the angel of the Lord pronounced his purpose as a Nazirite & deliverer of Israel against the Philistines (Judges 13:5). A picture of Christ who was sanctified at birth & delivered the whole human race from slavery of sin. Holding fast Christ in our heart’s; the pillar of our lives, we are able to concur the tempter & all temptations that come to us just like He overcame after fasting for 40 days.
Jesus our Lord; You are the pillar of our lives. Have mercy on us & strengthen us at the wake of temptations to always be victorious. Take complete control of our lives as we cannot do anything without You. May we decrease & as You increase. Amen
My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
-The words of the Father are written in our hearts by the Holy Spirit; lest anyone looses sight of them (2 Cor 3:3). Christ did not leave us orphan but gave us the Holy Spirit Who renews our inner man (spirit) daily in His truth. In the parable of the sower; He sows seed in our hearts which yields varied results. May our hearts have deep roots which make good ground to receive His word & yield fruit in abundance.
Lord our Father, we humbly come before to worship You & glorify You name. You are the alpha & omega, the beginning & the end. Establish our hearts in Your word that we may have good health, peace & life in You. Hear our prayers & petitions from the deepest parts of our hearts & fulfilled our heart desires. Amen
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
-Christ the prince of peace broke the separation/ discrimination between Jews & Gentiles in their religious rites & hatred that existed between them. In His atonement on the cross; He tore the temple veil that all can have direct access to Him; eliminating all the middlemen. Reconciling both those who were near & far off with Him in the same body by His Spirit. Therefore, we have confidence that when we call on Him; He hears us & will make all things perfect.
Abba Father, we are Your sons hear us. Have mercy on us & give us total peace in our hearts, families & nations. Increase our faith in You to know that You truly hear us when we call on You despite our shortcomings. Break all barriers in our lives that draw us far from You. May You abide in our hearts in the hope of Your salvation forever. Amen
And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center.
-Jesus was crucified on a hill near Jerusalem called the place of skull/ Golgotha/ Calvary, between two criminals condemned to death. Before His crucifixion, Pilate seated on his judgement seat at the pavement / Gabbatha was forced to follow the desire of the people to crucify Him as he had no power over the son of man (John 19:13). On the other hand; Jesus on the cross had power to judge the two criminals as one asked for His mercy, attained eternity with Him.
-The garden of Eden had numerous trees but in the middle were two trees, the tree of life & tree of the knowledge of good & evil. The tree of life has the ability to give immortality to man. In Rev 22:14, the right to partake of this tree will be reserved for those who do His commandments.
-Samson held on the middle pillars of the temple & destroyed the Philippines; Israel’s enemies just as it had been spoken by the angel of the Lord before his birth. Christ in the center of lives helps us to overcome the enemy & temptations.
-The heart is the focal point of our lives where all issues of life emerge. The Holy Spirit has written the Word in our hearts; which we should hold fast for it is life & good health. May our hearts have deep roots which make good ground to receive His word & yield fruit in abundance; as per the parable of the sower.
-Christ broke the middle wall reconciling those who were near & far off with Him in the same body by His Spirit; so that we all may access Him easily. He is our Father & His promises will come to pass in our lives according to His will.
Thank You Father for Your goodness & mercy upon our lives. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness & create in us a clean heart; so that we may be driven by Your will. Increase our faith in You; that we may speak to You knowing that You listen & will accomplish our heart desires. Touch our hearts with Your fruit for we need You always. Amen
