Genesis 6:9 Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. INSIGHT -Perfect in Hebrew is written as tamim &... PERFECT

Genesis 6:9

Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

INSIGHT

-Perfect in Hebrew is written as tamim & it means complete, accomplished, model, flawless, unblemished, whole, immaculate, spotless, righteous.

-Noah was perfect & the Lord preserved him using the ark; for he was a model of His righteousness as He intended on earth. Just like Noah, Abraham was righteous as he had great faith in God.

-In Lev 19:2, the Lord commanded the Israelites saying “You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy”. This statement was given in regard to the ten commandments which circle around love of God & neighbor. Jesus echoed this in Mat 5:48 saying; “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect”, when He was teaching on love for our enemies. Jesus also made mention in Mat 22:37-40; that the greatest commandment is love of God & the second love of neighbor, which fulfil the law & the prophets, for He is love.

PRAYER

Lord our Father, You are perfect. We do not take Your mercy & love upon us for granted, we thank You. May our faith in You be accounted to us for righteousness. Increase Your love in our hearts that we may take heed to love You & to love one another. May Your love in us impart grace to many. Amen

Deuteronomy 25:15

You shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure, that your days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord your God is.

INSIGHT

-The Lord is full of truth & upholds justice. King Solomon clearly puts it in Prov 11:1, that dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight. The Lord desires honesty in packaging, pricing, payments, service delivery, diligence in our work & we should work as if working for Him. He is faithful & directs us in our places of work & businesses that we may lack nothing & have long life.

PRAYER

We humbly implore You Father, for Your justice & truth. Guide our work, businesses & country; that corruption may not be named among us. Bless the work of hands that we may lack nothing & live long in the land that You have given us. Amen

Psalm 138:8

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

INSIGHT

-The Lords promises are true & will accomplish that which He began in our lives. For we are His workmanship through faith in Him that whatever He predestined for us; will be brought to completion through Christ.

-The Holy Spirit always intercedes for us when we are weak & gives us strength when we feel rejected & abandoned. He helps us when we are most vulnerable & lack a sense of direction, for He knew us before the foundation of the world & knows all things to come. Let us hold fast in Him that our heart desires may become a reality in His perfect time.

PRAYER

Abba Father, all glory & dominion belong to You. You are the alpha & omega, the beginning & the end, the first & the last. Have mercy on us. We call upon You today with humility in our hearts to perfect, establish, strengthen & settle us in Your promises for our lives. Shine Your face upon us & may Your grace dwell in us forever more. Amen

1 John 4:12

No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

INSIGHT

-We are created in Gods image, thus when we love one another God abides in us. For he who does not love does not know God, for God is love (1 John 4:8). Love is the greatest fruit of the Holy Spirit for it suffers long, it is kind, does not envy, does not parade itself, does not behave rudely, is not self seeking, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails (1 Cor 13:4-8). It is in these traits that we achieve perfection in our Christian character, for His image is reflected in our thoughts, words & actions. Love does not rejoice in iniquity for Gods commands are true & our love for Him is achieved. Love bears all things; bringing in the element of forgiveness which covers a multitude of sins (1 Pet 4:8), for if we forgive one another, love is evident in us & God forgives us also.

PRAYER

Lord our Father, we thank for Your love & mercy upon us through Your son Jesus Christ. Instill the same love & mercy in us that we may love one another & have the heart of forgiveness. Lead our way & cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Bless our country Kenya with Your love, peace & unity; especially this time of elections. Give us true & faithful leaders who will propel our country forward with a vision of prosperity & hope for all. Abide in our hearts forever. Amen

Matthew 19:20-22

The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?” Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

INSIGHT

-There was a rich young man who asked Jesus the formula of having eternal life. Jesus told him to keep the commandments which apparently he had kept from his youth. The young man was very wealthy & the love of money was in his heart. Therefore, he did not have the money but the money had him; for he was not willing to share what he had with the needy. Timothy shares the same sentiments in 1 Tim 6:17-19 saying, “Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life”. Jesus describes the poor as those who need food, water, clothes, shelter, prisoners & the sick (Mat 25:35-36).

SUMMARY

-The Lord created man to be holy & perfect in his walk with Him. He instructed the Israelites in holiness & gave them the law to govern their way of life. Part of our own constitutions have been drafted from these laws with consequences for non compliance. Jesus confirmed that the greatest commandment is the love of God & the second the love of neighbor which fulfill the law & the prophets.

-Our God is a God of justice & delights in perfect scales of measure in our work & businesses. When we work, we should work as if working for Him. He promises long life to them that are just in their dealings.

-The Lord will perfect that which concerns us for His mercy endures forever. His time is the best for He has great plans for us.

-Gods love is perfected in us when we love one another. Love reveals our Christ-like nature & reflects the image of God. God instructs us to love Him by keeping His word & to love our neighbor as ourselves; upholding forgiveness in our hearts.

PRAYER

Father, we thank You for Your graces & mercy upon our lives. This far we have seen Your hand. Help us to live in patience, humility & to willingly support the needy. May Your love abide in us to keep Your word & to forgive those who offend us. Help us to live in peace & unity with our fellow country men & to shun away from ethnic hatred & corruption. May we be perfect just as You are perfect. Amen
