THEME: THE LION

1 Peter 5:8-11 NIV

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.“

INSIGHT

The story of Job exposes us to some spiritual realities. The Lord questions the devil asking him where he was from, and he answered, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it” (Job 1:7). Satan therefore masquerade like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. There is need therefore to be spiritually alert and sober minded. Constant fellowship with the Holy Ghost, and other brethren through reading the word of God, prayer and thanksgiving exposes us to the right spiritual environment strengthening us in faith.

PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus how Great and Wonderful are You in all the earth. You are Marvelous, You are Excellent. May You enable us by Your grace to resist the devil and he will flee from us. May You protect us and preserve us with Your precious blood and hedge of fire from the schemes and darts of the devil. May You fight for us every battle for the battle belongs to You. Lord You are Holy may You always empower us to be holy. May You deliver all those who are addicted to alcohol, drugs, sexual immorality, gambling and other evil influences. May You restore everyone living in the street and enable them to find their godly ordained purposes. May You deliver our children, brothers and sisters from the snare of the enemy and grant all our households the gift of salvation. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen
