THEME: GOD OUR SOURCE
1 Corinthians 8:6 AMP
“yet for us there is but one God, the Father, who is the source of all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things [that have been created], and we [believers exist and have life and have been redeemed] through Him.”
INSIGHT
–Apostle Paul contrasts the many pagan gods with the one true God of Christians. He enlightens us that there is one God, the Father the Creator, the ultimate source of all things. That we there exists only one Lord, Jesus Christ through whom all things were made, and by whom we are redeemed.
SUMMARY
Source in Greek is written as archḗ and maqor in Hebrew which refers to the beginning or origin of something, a spring of water, a source of tears or blood, or figuratively to mean the genesis of happiness or wisdom. God our source is a prime theme that deduces Him as our creator and maker of the heavens and the earth. Moses and the Israelites sang to the Lord saying, God is highly exalted, He is my source of strength and my defense. He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name (Exodus 15:1-3). The Lord is our provider and source of resources; He rained bread from heaven for the Israelites in form of manna (Exodus 16:4). Jesus cautions us from worrying about life, what we will eat or drink; nor about the body, what we will put on, for life is more than food and the body more than clothing, and the birds of the air, neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet our heavenly Father feeds them, for we are more value than they, and by worrying we cannot add one cubit to our stature (Matthew 6:25-27). God is our source and He gives us the power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to our fathers, as it is this day (Deuteronomy 8:18-19). God is our supreme source and crowns the year with His goodness, and His paths drip with abundance (Psalms 65:11).
PRAYER
Lord You are our Source and our Life, You have become our Salvation. Lord You are our Creator and Father, our Provider, our Defense, our Guide, Sustainer, and Redeemer thank You for every miracle that You have performed in our lives, families and nation. Lord may You uphold us with Your righteous right hand. You have cautioned us from growing weary while doing good, may You help us to stand firm in faith and stand upon Your promises. May You grant us the strength and grace to keep moving forward and do Your will. Dear Lord Jesus gold and silver belong to You, the cattle on the thousand of hills belong to You, may You bless us and our nation and make us prosperous. In You dear Lord we find life and life everlasting. May You protect the citizens of Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Congo and all its people and grant us total peace in Jesus Name. Dear Lord Jesus, may You do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask of or think of according to the power that is at work in us. Lord, we trust in You and exalt You. We believe that You are able to do more than we can think of or imagine. We believe that we shall be extremely fruitful since we abide in You and You in us. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in Your house forever. May You bless us and keep us loving Father, may You shine Your face upon us and be gracious to us. May You lift up Your countenance towards us and give us peace. Amen
Blessed Weekend
