THEME: PROMISES OF GOD

Genesis 9:11-13 NKJV

“Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.”

INSIGHT

–God assures humanity that a worldwide flood of destruction will never again occur. The verse shows God’s grace, though sin remains in humanity, God restrains His judgment and establishes stability on earth. This marks the beginning of God’s Noahic Covenant, a promise of mercy after judgment. This covenant is unconditional since it depends solely on God’s faithfulness and not on human obedience. The rainbow reminds believers today of God’s faithfulness even after judgment. The rainbow has since been misused to identify with those who wish to practice LGBTQ+, which also caused destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:23-25). Just as the flood cleansed the world, so Christ’s sacrifice provides a new beginning for us, our children and generations assuring us that His mercy comes before judgment.

PRAYER

Your mercy dear Lord Jesus triumphs over judgment. We need Your mercy dear Lord Jesus. You say in Your word that blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. Have mercy on us where we have gone astray in our thoughts, hearts and actions, may You cleanse us and wash us with Your precious blood. May You deliver all those who have been entangled in lesbianism, gaysm, pornography and other sexual immoral activities, and set them free dear Jesus. May You remember Your Noahic with us Your children, that Your mercy will always precede judgement. We need Your grace precious Redeemer to guide us this week and beyond. We need You each day, every hour and each second, how we love You precious Holy Spirit. How we need You closer and closer to us. Thank You for Your love and favor upon us and all our generations. All glory, honor, praise and thanksgiving belongs to You now and forever. Amen
