THEME: GENTLENESS
1 Peter 3:3-4
Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
INSIGHT
-A special message to the ladies by Apostle Peter, who focus on their outward appearance & forget inner beauty. He talks of outward adornment with neat hair, gold or pearls & costly clothing which should match the content in the heart. He alleges that a gentle & quiet spirit should be the main focus for these are pleasing in the eyes of the Lord. The same is echoed in 1 Tim 2:9-11, which proposes godliness, good works & submission; rooted from the script on the virtuous woman, who fears the Lord & is clothed in strength & honour. She takes proper care of her household in all gentleness, upholds wise words & her actions are worthy of praise (Prov 31:10-31).
PRAYER
We bless You & give You praise Abba Father; for there is non other like You. Your marvellous works of creation are beautiful in all perspectives. Among these are the beautiful women You created. Instil in all women a gentle & quiet spirit so that they may be stable in word & deed led by Your fear. May wisdom be their light as they take seriously their responsibilities. Bring them closer to You, accomplish their heart desires & fill them with Your love & grace. Amen
