THE NAME OF JESUS THE NAME OF JESUS
John 16:24 NIV ”Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be... THE NAME OF JESUS

John 16:24 NIV

Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.“

INSIGHT

God exalted Jesus Christ to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11). The name of Jesus is therefore powerful above every other name, created and uncreated thing, visible and invisible thing. The name of Jesus is exulted above everything and we should have faith in Him for without faith we cannot please Him. We are called to believe in Jesus who hears and answers prayers. It takes life to hear but power to answer prayers. Any living thing with the hearing ability hears but it is by power in the name of Jesus that answers are found. The name of Jesus is powerful, and we are called to ask anything in His name and believe that we have our response for if we pray and not believe we will not receive (James 1:6-7).

PRAYER

Your name is powerful Jesus. At Your name Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ You are Lord, to the glory of God the Father. In Your name Jesus may You break every delay, doubt, discouragement, disease, yoke, infinity, sin, addiction, and every evil in our lives, families, society, churches and nation. May You release answers to our prayers dear Jesus for we believe in You and in Your name. May You increase our faith in You dear Jesus and liberate us from unbelief. You are the One we praise and serve. Your are our Only God and we do not not have any other God but You dear Jesus. May You go ahead of us this week and make every crooked path straight. We believe in Your name Jesus and Your power now and forever. Amen

2 Thessalonians 3:6-10 NIV

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”

INSIGHT

The name of Jesus is authoritative and gives command to all men. The word of God discloses unending possibilities in the name of Jesus. The scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Apostle Paul discloses his intention to teach the Thessalonians not only by word but through actions. He instructs that one should not contend with believers who are idle for they may exhibit characteristics of busybodies who lead others astray in lawlessness and laziness. Apostle Paul endeavored to work through tent making even as he preached the gospel (Acts 18:3). We are also reminded that those who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness (2 Timothy 2:19).

PRAYER

Father we come before Your throne of grace and mercy this day with thanksgiving and adoration in our hearts. We exult and magnify You our precious Savior and Redeemer. Father we pray in that by Your Grace You shall help us to walk and live worthy of our calling. We pray that You shall teach us how to be diligent and to do what is pleasing You oh Lord, that we shall forever bring glory and honor to Your Name Lord Jesus. Dear Lord by Your power may You bring to fruition Your every desire for Your goodness. May You deliver us from every form of idleness and laziness, and every wickedness. We pray for all those who are jobless that You may empower them and grant them meaningful jobs and business opportunities, and the willingness to work as if they are working for You Lord. We pray believing and trusting in Jesus Mighty name. Amen

Acts 16:18 NKJV

And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.“

INSIGHT

The seventy disciples had great joy, that demons were subject to them in the name of Jesus (Luke 10:17). Paul and the apostles had the same authority, casting out demons and healing the sick in the name of Jesus. In the primary passage above, Paul performed the miracle of exorcism on the slave girl who possessed the power of divination, from which her masters profited. In the name of Jesus, we have the ability to perform both physical and spiritual healing as commissioned by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mark 16:16-18 discloses that those who believe in Jesus will be saved and will have the power to cast out demons, speak with new tongues, take up serpents and deadly drinks which will not hurt them, lay hands on the sick and they will recover, in the name of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER

Your name Jesus is the most powerful name, higher than any other name in all the heavens, the earth, among ever seen and unseen thing, in all created and uncreated thing. Your name is lifted high Jesus, let the heavens rejoice, let the earth declare Your glory. You have given us authority to trample over snakes and scorpions, and to overcome all the power of the enemy that nothing will harm us, we praise Your holy name Jesus. You have given us the power to heal the sick and cast our demons in Your name Jesus, we honor Your holy name Jesus. You are the One who redeemed us by Your blood and we are more than conquerors in You Christ Jesus. May You anoint us afresh that we operate in power and be strong in You and do exploits in Your name. May You deliver all those who have been taken captive by the devil in drug and alcohol addiction, sexual immorality, delay and barrenness in any area by Your precious blood. May You grant the gift of salvation to those who are lost and live in darkness by Your redeeming power dear Lord Jesus. May You heal all those who are sick in hospital and at home dear Jesus. In Jesus mighty name we pray believing and trusting. Amen

Acts 4:11-12 NIV

Jesus is “ ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

INSIGHT

-Salvation is found in the name of Jesus. God sent the Holy Spirit, our Advocate in the name of Jesus that He may teach us all things that Jesus has taught and remind us everything that Jesus has said (John 14:26).

SUMMARY

The name of Jesus has Power over all other powers, rulers, authorities, kings and principalities. Jesus having been found in appearance as a Man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death even death on a cross. Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:8-11). The name of Jesus is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). We are called to run to Jesus disregarding our state, status, requests and He will respond and give us sure peace. Jesus calls us says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30). Jesus calls us to His with whatever challenges that we are faced with an He will give us rest. He also invites us to ask for all things in His name and He will answer us so that our joy may be complete (John 16:24). In the name of Jesus we find freedom from disease, oppression, depression for He is faithful in His promises. Apostle Paul ordered an evil spirit of divination to come out of the slave girl who made profit for his masters (Acts 16:18). Likewise, Jesus has given us power in His name to trample over snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy. To cast out demons and heal the sick in His name, and operate in authority for the glory and honor of His name.
