2 Corinthians 10:3-6 NKJV

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”

INSIGHT

-Spiritual warfare is a subject that most Christian’s ignore but it offers critical importance to our well-being and progression. Apostle Paul admits that he is a mortal man, living in the realities of the present world. He outlines that we do not war or fight with mere human weapons. We need weapons that are God-empowered, mighty in God with the purpose of demolishing strongholds and anything opposing God. The warfare of the mind that causes ignorance, arrogance, rebellion in attitude and ideas that oppose the true knowledge and purpose of God. Therefore, the value of engaging in spiritual warfare responds by punishing the disobedience into obedience to Christ, and offer victory expected and beyond through prayer.

Exodus 12:13 NKJV

Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.”

INSIGHT

The Israelites celebrated the Passover feast in the month of Nisan also called Abib, normally observed between March and April. A lamb was selected and its blood smeared on the doorposts of the Israelites to signal peace and security even as the Egyptian first born sons were killed. The Passover feast is celebrated Israel to date and serves as a memorial for those who were delivered from the Egyptian captivity and their offspring’s. The ceremony marks a significant role in affirming God’s protective care, deliverance and unfailing love. The blood of Jesus offers us redemption, justification and sanctification to all who believe.

PRAYER

You are Yahweh, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. You are the same Lord Jesus yesterday, today and forever. You never change, You never fail, You never abandon us. May You cover us with Your precious blood Jesus. Your blood that protects us from every evil thing targeted towards our destruction, defeat and drought. Your precious blood that speaks better things than the blood of Abel and offers a better testimony in every aspect of our lives. Your blood that washed us, justified us and sanctified us in Your name dear Lord Jesus Christ and by Your power Holy Spirit. We thank for Your divine power that has granted us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of You who called us to Your own glory and excellence. We declare that we shall not die but live to declare Your goodness Oh Lord. We shall not die before our time. We give You praise and adoration, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen

Psalms 34:1-8 NKJV

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”

INSIGHT

King David escapes from king Saul who was pursuing him and sorts for refuge among the Philippines. When he came to Gath, he pretended to have gone mad for he was afraid of king Achish since his servants said, “Is this not David the king of the land? Did they not sing of him to one another in dances, saying: ‘Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands’?” (1 Samuel 21:11). David found refuge in the Lord despite the arduous challenges that he went through. David still remembered the Lord and praised Him. The Lord delivered him from his distress. David also cites the help that God offers through His angels who encamp around those who fear God. These are ministering spirits assigned for those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:13-14). Let us always sort the Lord for help and deliverance who also used His angels to offer us security.

PRAYER

Lord You are my Rock and Defense and have become my salvation. You are my Fortress and Refuge, in You alone I put my trust. I will bless You Lord at all times and Your praise shall always be on my lips. You are God alone, I love You dear Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me first. I love You Holy Spirit, my Helper and Comforter. I love God my Father, my Papa and my Friend. Thank You for protecting us and giving us peace that surpasses all human understanding. May You order Your angels over us to keep us in all our ways and bear us in their hands and bear us up, lest we dash our feet against a stone. Send help for us dear Lord Jesus. All glory, honor and praise belongs to You, now and forever. Amen

Job 1:10 NKJV

Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.”

INSIGHT

Job enjoyed God’s protection and provision possibly motivated by His genuine devotion and fear of the Lord. He offered burnt sacrifices for the sanctification of his children each morning lest they sinned against God. Satan confirmed to God that since the Lord had made a hedge around Job and his entire household on every side, that Satan was unable to interfere with Job’s affairs. Also, that the Lord had blessed Job and the work of his hands, that he had increased in possessions (Job 1:9-10). The Lord proclaims in Zechariah 2:5, that He will be a wall of fire all around Jerusalem, and He will be the glory in her midst. The imagery of fire symbolizes God’s power, judgment, and presence, creating a formidable barrier against their enemies, and this is a declaration we are making for our lives today.

PRAYER

What a joy to discover that You Lord are the wall of fire around us. Thank You for You have protected us this far and the promise to protect us forevermore. Thank You for Your preservation upon us and our families from all evil. As Elijah prayed and fire came down from heaven and consumed the two sets of fifty soldiers sent by king Ahaziah, may You precious Holy Spirit send Your fire from heaven to destroy every evil force that plans our destruction. May Your fire burn every witchcraft, sorcery, monitoring spirits that are channeled towards our destruction and delay. May You fight for us precious Holy Spirit and grant us victory on every side, as we walk in step with You now and forever. Amen

Luke 10:17-20 NIV

The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

INSIGHT

Jesus knew that the time was short before His crucifixion, and that there were still many villages that had not yet heard His message, so He send them two by two. Jesus gave His disciples authority in His name to cast out demons just like He had done with the twelve apostles in Luke 9:1-2 and to cure diseases. Jesus has granted all believers power and authority over every spiritual enemy and demonic power symbolized by snakes and scorpions that we may be strong and courageous while executing our mandate for the glory of God.

SUMMARY

Scripture teaches that way before the first day of the present creation, there has been conflict between the Lord’s Heavenly Hosts on one side and Celestial (Heavenly) beings in the lower parts of the heavens on the other end. Revelation 12:7-9 says that, “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Ephesians 6:11 makes this point clearer that, “we wrestle not against Flesh and Blood but against Principalities, Powers, Rulers of Darkness and Spiritual wickedness in Heavenly Places.” Also, our weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:4-6). Satan is the voice that tempts us to sin then afterwards turns back to be the voice that accuses us of the same sin attacking the conscience causing us to flee from God’s Presence. Satan is the accuser of the brethren, accusing us day and night before God (Revelation 12:10). He was roaming around ready to accuse Job but God had covered him with His hedge of fire (Job 1:10). One of the weapons of our warfare is the hedge of fire of the Holy Spirit that covers us on every side against the snares of the devil. The blood of Jesus that secured the Israelites from death (Exodus 12:13), is the second weapon that God has provided for us free through His Son. God also dispatches His angels to encamp around us and deliver us (Psalms 34:7), as the third weapon. God gives charge to His angels over us, to keep us in all our ways, and bear us up lest we dash our feet against a stone (Psalms 91:11-12). Forth is calling on the name of Jesus which is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10).

PRAYER

Your name is a strong tower dear Lord Jesus the righteous run to You, and we are safe. We are safe in You alone loving Jesus. You have given us authority to trample over snakes and scorpions and to overcome the power of enemy nothing shall indeed harm us. We break every hindrance, every spiritual enemy causing disease, infirmity, depression, delay, barrenness, lack, and every form of demonic interference in our lives, families, communities, businesses and nation. We declare that we are operating in power and victory in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We shall operate in boldness and submission to Your will and conqueror all in Your name Christ Jesus. We shall be strong in You Lord and in the power of Your might. We shall always put on Your whole armor dear Lord Jesus that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. We are rising and shining in You dear Lord and soaring high like an eagle. We are Yours and we belong to You; may You help us and empower us to do Your will. May Your promises come to life in our lives, families and nation dear Jesus. May You grant Your true salvation to us and all people dear merciful Savior. Lord may You do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask of or think of according to the power that is at work in us. Lord we trust in You and exalt You. We believe that You are able to do more than we can think of or imagine. We believe that we shall be extremely fruitful since we abide in You and You in us. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in Your house forever. May You bless us and keep us loving Father, may You shine Your face upon us and be gracious to us. May You lift up Your countenance towards us and give us peace. Amen
