THEME: POWER OF THANKSGIVING
Matthew 14:17-21
“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.”
INSIGHT
-Jesus explored the power of thanksgiving, and supernatural miracles took place. When the disciples did not believe that five loaves and two fish could feed five thousand men excluding women and children, Jesus made the impossible; possible. He took hold of the bread, broke them and gave to His disciples, who distributed to the people. The multitudes fed and there were twelve baskets left over. Thanksgiving exposes us to the supernatural and we experience God’s power in our lives, families, ministries, businesses, churches etc. When Jesus broke the bread and gave thanks, the grace of increase was realized and many were fed. When we give thanks to God, He increases us in abilities, resources, wisdom and faith for the glory of His name. As we come to the close of this year, let us develop the culture of giving thanks to God in true worship and we will experience His supernatural blessings in our lives. Let us remember to celebrate Holy Communion with our loved ones and many miracles will take place; if we believe in Jesus Christ. Let us also remember the poor and needy in our society, and support them in their needs, as the Lord leads us.
