THEME: GRACE OF GOD

Romans 6:1-5

“What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.”

INSIGHT

-Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law. In the Old Testament we see the word grace thirty nine (39) times which translates to sufficient grace for every book and each of us. God introduced the law and none could keep it in entirety. James 2:10 says that, “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it”. God therefore gave a solution to sinfulness through a lamb which served as an atonement, sacrificed once a year for the sins of the people. This is a sign of grace which absolved God’s people from their sins. Jesus became the Lamb of sacrifice and died once, and for all for the sake of the entire human kind. We therefore died to sin and have a new life in Him, with the hope of resurrection on the last day. We then do not sin because grace abounds but live in holiness because we have been crucified with Christ and it is not we who live but He who lives in us. 1 Corinthians 6:20 reminds us that, we were bought at a price and therefore we should honor God with our bodies. We are called to live holy lives in Christlikeness, holding fast faith in Christ and love for Him and one another.

Thank You for Your sacrifice on the cross; for our sins, we bless Your holy name. Thank You for Your everlasting love in our lives. We love You Lord our God. We appreciate You for who You are and what You have done unto us. Thank You for protecting us, sustaining us, providing for all our needs, loving us and keeping Your divine promises in our lives. You are not a man that You should lie nor a son of man that You should repent, all our hope and trust is in You. We humbly ask You to forgive us all our sins and wash us with Your precious blood. Protect us, our families and nation with Your hedge of fire, and keep us safe. Give us the grace dear Jesus to always do Your holy will. Create in each one of us a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Fill us with the Spirit of Your fear Lord; that we may always do and think about all that pleases You. May we obtain favor before You, and before men and women, in every way. Our Father who art in heaven; hallowed be Your name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil; for thine is the Kingdom the power and the glory; forever and ever. Amen
