And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam’s anger was aroused, and he struck the donkey with his staff. Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?” And Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have abused me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you!”
-Prophet Balaam on his journey to Moab to meet Balak; the king who wanted him to curse the Israelites, when the donkey spoke. This might seem un-natural but presumably Balaam was accustomed to Gods divinity. To note, the serpent spoke to Eve regarding the fruit in Eden (Gen 3:1).
-The Angel of the Lord opened the eyes of the donkey to see him while Balaam was blinded from him for a time. Later, Balaam in his prophecy said that his eyes were opened, ears could hear Gods words & he could see visions (Num 24:3-4).
May we be led in Your wisdom Father, to always hear from You. Open our eyes to see visions & dreams of what You want to show us. May Your grace abound in us forever more. Amen
