THEME: TRUST IN GOD

John 14:1

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.”

INSIGHT

-The LORD is our God, our Fortress and Shield, the Rock upon whom we stand. We are called to believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit so that we may remain firm in faith. When we trust in the LORD, we become like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people from this time forth and forever (Psalms 125:1-2). We obtain His divine establishment and remain unshaken despite the fears and challenges that the world presents our way.

SUMMARY

Trusting in God is to commit oneself to God. To believe in Him and His promises. We find many examples of people in the Bible who believed in God and they received their requests. Abraham trusted in God and he became the father of many nations. Sarah believed in the promises of God and despite her old age; she bore a son; Isaac. Hannah believed in God despite her barrenness and she bore Samuel. Job trusted in God despite loosing everything and becoming sick; but the Lord restored his health and gave him plenty. Paul had fervent faith in God and turned many to Christ. The Samaritan woman believed in Jesus and received her salvation. We find that when we trust in God; we are blessed and never lack any good thing. We are called to trust in God with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding; but in all our ways acknowledge Him and He will make our paths straight. When we trust in the Lord, He renews our strength. When we trust in God we become like trees planted in the rivers of water and when drought comes, we still bear fruit. When we trust in the Lord, we are established in His grace like mount Zion and He protects us from all evil. Trusting is God is also to fear the Lord and we obtain His wisdom. The Lord encamps around us when we fear Him and when disease, destruction and evil snares come, He hides us under His pinions. Jesus Christ is the Rock of our Salvation. We are reminded to put our faith in Him and He will cover us with His precious blood so that when the angel of death comes, he sees the blood and passes by. The blood of Jesus has power to cleanse us from all sins, heal our wounds, deliver us from all evil and give us victory in everything. Through God’s everlasting love for us, He fills our hearts with joy and grants us total peace and calls us to give thanks to Him in all things.

PRAYER

We love You O LORD, our Strength. You are our Rock upon whom we stand, our Fortress and Deliverer. Our God, our Strength in whom we put all our trust. Our Shield and the Horn of our salvation, our Stronghold. We call upon You LORD, who is worthy to be praised, save us from all evil. The pangs of death and floods of ungodliness surround us. The sorrows of Sheol surround us and the snares of death confront us, but we shall not be moved for You are our Rock and Deliverer, our God in whom we put our trust. Cover us with Your precious blood Jesus and hide us under Your pinions. We shall not be shaken for all our hope is in You Lord. Heal all our wounds and restore in us the joy of Your salvation. Teach us, our families, churches, leaders, nation and the whole world to believe in You and bestow upon us the gift of salvation so that we may all have life everlasting with You Jesus. We shall not fear for You are in us and with us. You are the Vine and we are Your branches, help us to bear much fruit according to Your merciful love. You are our Good Shepherd and we are Your sheep, shepherd us in all things for our lives belong to You Jesus. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Be with us now and forevermore. Amen

Blessed Weekend
