THEME: PERFECT GOD

Matthew 5:48 NKJV

Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

INSIGHT

In this context perfect in Hebrew is written as teleios means completeness, wholeness, holiness or spiritual maturity rather than absolute, flawless sinlessness. In Romans 3:23-24 we are reminded that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. In Mark 10:18 we find Jesus answering the disciples that no one is good except God alone. We have been called to be holy for God alone is holy (1 Peter 1:16).

PRAYER

We bless You dear Lord Jesus at all times, and Your praise shall continually be in our mouths. Our souls make boast in You Lord, the humble hear of it and are glad. We magnify You Lord and exalt Your name together. Lord You have called us to walk in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin, have mercy on us. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us, but if we confess our sins, Lord You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Lord You are able to do unto us exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. To You dear Lord Jesus be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
