THEME: COURTS OF HEAVEN
Luke 18:2-8 NKJV
“saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ” Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
INSIGHT
-The parable of the unjust judge reveals that if an unrighteous judge can answer the widow and grant her a just judgement, how much more can Jesus respond to us speedily. How much more will the Lord avenge us His own elect.
PRAYER
Lord You are near to us all who call on You, to all who call on You in truth. When we call upon You Lord You Lord You always hear us. Lord You are able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. Lord You have cautioned us in Your word from grumbling against one another, lest we are condemned for the Judge is standing at the door. Our Father who art in heaven; hallowed be Your name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil; for thine is the Kingdom the power and the glory; forever and ever. Amen
