THEME: BELIEVE IN GOD
Mark 5:25-34 NKJV
“Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
INSIGHT
–The parable of the woman sick with a condition exemplifies the power and sovereignity of Jesus to heal every disease and condition. The woman had suffered from a blood condition for twelve years and she believed in Jesus and His healing grace. God is inviting us today to believe and trust in Him and He will heal us, deliver us and supply for all our needs according to His glory in Christ Jesus.
SUMMARY
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). The foundation of Christianity is faith in Jesus Christ. John 3:16 reveals the love that God has for us that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. In John 14:1 Jesus tells us “let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” In Hebrews 11:6 we are reminded that without faith it is impossible to please God for He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Jeremiah 17:5-8 the Lord says that, “cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength and blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose hope is the Lord. It is therefore inevitable as a believer to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-7).
