THEME: HOLINESS

Hebrews 12:14-16 NKJV

“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.”

INSIGHT

Peace and holiness is a paramount component of our daily lives, for without it progression proves to be impossible both now and to eternity. God invites us to pursue things that make for peace and edify one another (Romans 14:19), forgiving those who offend us and seeing God’s mercy. Further, the Lord calls us to cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God (2 Corinthians 7:1). It is through the chastening of the Lord which seem joyful at present but painful eventually, yielding the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it (Hebrews 12:10-11).

PRAYER

We rejoice in You Lord our God; the horn of our salvation. We rejoice in Your salvation and celebrate Your victory over our enemies. No one is holy like You Lord our God, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like You our God. May You annoint us afresh with Your fruit of peace precious Holy Spirit and holiness for without these we cannot see You. Open our hearts dear Lord to receive You and to receive from You through faith. May You cast out all doubt, unforgiveness and anxiety from our hearts and grant us Your peace that surpasses all human understanding to guard our thoughts and hearts in You Christ Jesus. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen
