THEME: KINGDOM OF GOD
Mark 9:1 NKJV
“And He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power.”
INSIGHT
–Jesus came so that we may have life and have it more abundantly. Even though in the pilgrimage journey we face challenge since the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but we have victory in Christ (John 10:10). God calls us to live righteously for the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God, including:- fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, sodomites, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers and extortioners (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Let us then submit to God and resist the devil and he will flee from us (James 4:7).
SUMMARY
The kingdom of God refers to God’s reign on earth and consequently, in our hearts. It is about His kingship and our obedience to His rule. The kingdom of God is central to Jesus’ message of the gospel. Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom of God saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:14-15). Apostle Paul also preached the gospel of the kingdom of God as he dwelt two years in his own rented house (Acts 28:30-31). The kingdom of God is not a matter of observation but it is within us (Luke 17:20-21). The kingdom of God manifests in righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit and it is not only about eating and drinking (Romans 14:17). Jesus calls us to be born of water and the Spirit, that is to be born again, so as to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5-7).
PRAYER
Abba Father our God we worship You and exalt Your holy name. At the mention of Your name, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ You are Lord to the glory of God the Father. We thank You for Your sacrifice on the cross for our salvation. We worship Your holy name for giving us the gift of salvation. May You help us to flee from the devil and he will flee from us. We declare that no weapon fashioned against us shall prosper and no tongue that has been raised against us shall prevail in Jesus name. We shall live in liberty, wholeness, health, wellness, sound-mind, exceeding fruitfulness, peace, unity, love, joy of the Lord which is our strength. We shall accomplish God’s purposes and leave a worthwhile legacy in Jesus name. Our Father who art in heaven; hallowed be Your name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil; for thine is the Kingdom the power and the glory; forever and ever. Amen
Blessed Weekend
