THEME: FAITH AND WORK
Hebrews 11:8-12 NKJV
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.”
INSIGHT
–Abraham the father of faith believed in God and this was accounted to him for righteousness. He obeyed God when he was instructed to move from Haran to Canaan the land of inheritance and the Lord released his blessings upon him and his descendants (Genesis 12:1-5). He was a righteous man for the trusted in the Faithful God together with his household. Sarah also judged God as Faithful for He who made the promise would most definitely deliver it even though she was advanced in age. These are the hero’s of faith that we testify of in our walk with God as we look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. If then we have faith let us then believe in the faithfulness and righteousness of God Who loves us and answer all our prayers.
PRAYER
How excellent is Your name Lord in all the heavens and the earth. You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, because of Your enemies, that You may silence the enemy and the avenger. Lord You have made us a little lower than the angels and have crowned us with glory and honor. You have given us dominion over the works of Your hands and have put all things under our feet, all sheep and oxen, the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea. O Lord our Lord how excellent is Your name in all the earth. Your kingdom Lord does not only entail eating and drinking but righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. We believe that dear Lord Jesus Christ You are our Righteous Judge and Your righteousness is everlasting. We know that You are our Faithful God and Your faithfulness endures forever. May You increase our faith like that of Abraham and Sarah’s so that we may know and partake of the promises that You have secured for us. We thank You for enabling us to see this new month in good health. may Your grace and favor be upon us each day. We believe that You are Faithful and have answered all our prayers according to Your great love. All glory, honor and blessings belong to You, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray believing and trusting. Amen
