THEME: FREEDOM

Psalms 136:10-16 NKJV

To Him who struck Egypt in their firstborn, For His mercy endures forever; And brought out Israel from among them, For His mercy endures forever; With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, For His mercy endures forever; To Him who divided the Red Sea in two, For His mercy endures forever; And made Israel pass through the midst of it, For His mercy endures forever; But overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea, For His mercy endures forever; To Him who led His people through the wilderness, For His mercy endures forever;”

INSIGHT

This is a Psalm of thanksgiving for the redemption of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.  His mighty works were evidenced through Moses instructed to demonstrate God’s power through signs and wonders in Egypt among Pharaoh and all his servants, and the destruction of the firstborn men and beast in Egypt (Psalms 135:8-9). The Lord parted the Red sea to ensure Israelites deliverance and saved an entire nation. God uses His work through scriptural references to offer hope, faith, and confidence to us in our current state and future salvation. We are called to seek God and His help and deliverance from oppression by every neo-colonial and local masters.

PRAYER

We give thanks to You Lord for You are Good and Your mercies endures forever. You redeemed the Israelites from captivity in Egypt, Your mercies endures forever. Let the Redeemed of the Lord say, Your mercies endures forever. Lord may You redeem us and save us from the hand of our oppressors and enemies. May You liberate us and deliver us from corruption, poor governance, embezzlement of funds, western oppression and all evil vices that are geared towards destroying our nation and our people. We repent for every sin and iniquity committed in our nation, may You forgive us and cleanse us with Your precious blood. Lord may You save us and grant us rest in our nation. May You raise remnants that will take charge of this nation who will obey Your divine will and instructions. May You make a way dear Lord Jesus even where there seems to be no way. Our Father who art in heaven; hallowed be Your name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil; for thine is the Kingdom the power and the glory; forever and ever. Amen
