THEME: PROMISE OF GREATNESS

Ephesians 2:5-7

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”

INSIGHT

-As believers we share in Christs’ resurrection, ascension, and in His present rule at the right hand of God. From this place of partnership, He grants that we share in the present work of His kingdom’s power. Colossians 1:13-14 reminds us that God has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in Whom we have redemption, and the forgiveness of sins. We therefore, rejoice in His power and dominion in which we share as His children, and partake of His enduring grace and mercy.

SUMMARY

The Lord promised Abram to make him the father of a great nation, to bless him, to make his name great, to bless him and all the people of the earth have been blessed through him (Genesis 12:2 -3). Abraham had not yet received the promise of a son but he put his hope and faith in the Lord. It is by faith that he obeyed the instructions of the Lord to go into a foreign land; Canaan, and receive his blessing. He also obeyed an instruction that seemed difficult, as he went to mount Moriah to sacrifice his only son Isaac. It is through this faith in the Lord that we are Abrahams seed and possess the promise of his blessing. The key to such greatness is obedience as we sight in Deuteronomy 28. The Lord has promised to bless you in the city and in the country. To bless the fruit of your womb, the produce of your land and offspring of your livestock. To bless you when you come in and when you go out. To cause your enemies who rise up against us to be defeated before us. To bless your barns and everything you put your hands to do. To bless you in the land the Lord is giving you. To establish you as His holy people, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep His commandments and walk in His ways. To make you prosper abundantly in the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your land. The Lord will open the heavens, His abundant storehouse, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. The Lord will enable you to lend to many nations, but borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head and not the tail; to only move upward and never downward. This is possible since God has made us alive when we were dead to trespasses and sins, in which we once walked according to the course of this world, and of the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience. All of us also lived among them at one time, fulfilling the cravings of our flesh and indulging its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature children of wrath. But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved. God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might display the surpassing riches of His grace, demonstrated by His kindness to us in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:2-7). We then posses the power of the Holy Spirit within us, if we believe in Christ and the power of His resurrection, and are able to do great works for the glory of His name. We are then more than conquerors in Christ Jesus, and celebrate His most precious gift of salvation.

PRAYER

I lift up my eyes towards the hills. Where does my help come. My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; Your Protector will not slumber. Lord You are the Maker of the heavens and the earth, we praise praise You and honor You our Lord and Savior. You are our Maker and our Protector, we rely on Your grace dear Jesus. Lord You are the Maker of our businesses and our jobs, we know that You are expanding our territories and blessing the work of our hands. You are the Maker of our families, we know that You are making a way where there seems to be no way and blessing the fruit of our womb. Lord You are the Maker of our nation, we believe that You are making us great, and giving us Your salvation. Lord we know that You are blessing us according to Your word in Deuteronomy 28 and establishing Your promises in our lives. We worship You Lord and praise Your holy name. May You bless us and keep us Lord. May You shine Your face upon us and be gracious to us. May You turn Your countenance towards us and give us Peace. Amen

Blessed Weekend
