Ecclesiastes 7:19 NIV
“Wisdom makes one wise person more powerful than ten rulers in a city.”
INSIGHT
-Wisdom in Hebrew is written as Chokmah which is the ability to judge correctly and follow the best course of action, based on knowledge and understanding from God. Wisdom is the ability to see something from God’s viewpoint. It is ‘God’s character’ in the many affairs of life. Wisdom is the principle thing. In all our getting we are called to get understanding. The one who is wise is more powerful than ten rulers. Ecclesiastes 9:16 tells us that wisdom is better than strength. Wisdom is the power that emanates from within and not from without. We are called to ask for wisdom from the Lord, who gives generously to all without finding fault.

2 Chronicles 1:10-12 NIV
“Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?” God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”
INSIGHT
-Having been given a blank cheque, king Solomon exhibited utmost selflessness. He did not choose honor, wealth, possessions, long life or death of his enemies but wisdom to enable him rule the people justly. It seems like he was already discerning having made this choice. How many among us would choose wisdom over all these options, would you ? Since his request pleased the Lord, he was given all these blessings. Through wisdom, he was able to rule the people with prudence and the fear of the Lord. The purpose for which he was called was then fulfilled without much difficulty. True wisdom will give spiritual life, and strengthen men and women for the service for which the Lord has called us to fulfill here on earth.
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus Your mercies are new each morning. May You have mercy on us and on the whole world. May Your grace abound in us dear Jesus. May You vindicate us by Your merciful love Oh Lord our God. May You breath afresh in us dear Jesus that we may hunger for You more and more. As a deer pants for streams of water so our souls thirst for You Lord Jesus. Proverbs 3:13-18 NIV
“Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.”
INSIGHT
-Rubies were considered the most precious priceless jewels in the ancient times. Wisdom is considered of greater value than money and all precious metals. Ecclesiastes 7:12 tells us that, “Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves those who have it.” We see that money is important as wisdom is, but wisdom is of the key to those who seek to have it and exercise it. Wisdom preserves life but money doesn’t if used or gained in the wrongful ways. God reminds us in Proverbs 8:10-11, that we should prefer His instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing we desire can compare with her.
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus You have instructed us to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness, and all other things You will add unto us. We seek first Your Your wisdom and the grace that emanates from it. We seek first Your instructions and knowledge from Your mind Lord. May You grant us wisdom that only comes from You, that we may prefer Your instructions to money and precious metals. May You destroy any spirit of mammon is us, our families or nation. May You teach us to choose You and worship You over every other idol. May You grant our leaders wisdom so that they may follow Your will alone. May You grant our president, deputy president, all governors and all leaders Your wisdom that they may seek first Your kingdom and righteousness. May Your will prevail in our lives and everything that we do. May You bless our nation and our economy dear Jesus. May You forgive us our trespasses and our sins merciful Savior and wash us with Your precious blood. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen

Luke 12:16-21 NIV
“And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” ’ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”
INSIGHT
-The parable of the rich fool discloses that the man had made an excellent plan to store his crop. He made a good plan to save up for the future, and to enjoy himself. In fact, he had done many things well but he did not prepare for his own soul. Death was not in his planning book. A person does not know when his or her time is coming. It is wise to live a balanced life by securing ones future financially and spiritually by the grace of God. We are called to believe in Jesus and that He died and resurrected for our salvation (1 Peter 3:18). To admit that we are sinners and coming to sincere repentance (Romans 3:10-23). Further, committing ones life to Jesus as our Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9).
SUMMARY
Wisdom is a spiritual gift that we receive from the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:8). God gives wisdom and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:6). We know that there is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord, for the horse is made ready for the day of battle, and victory rests with the Lord (Proverbs 21:30-31). It is then vital to sought for wisdom which only comes from the Lord. James 1:5 reminds us that if anyone lacks wisdom, he/she should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault. Wisdom begins when ones fears the Lord, and gains understanding from Him. The one who finds wisdom is blessed, for it is more profitable that silver and rubies, and yields more returns than gold (Proverbs 3:13-18). King Solomon asked for wisdom, and honor, wealth, possessions, honor, and long life were added to him (2 Chronicles 1:10-12). Wisdom makes one wise person more powerful than ten rulers in a city (Ecclesiastes 7:19). Wisdom enables us to know God better and the eyes of our hearts are enlightened in order that you may understand the hope to which he has called us, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe (Ephesians 1:17-20). Through the Holy Scriptures, we are made wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
