Acts 16:25-26 NKJV

“But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.”

INSIGHT

-Prayer in Greek is written as euche, which means to make a vow or petition to God. Prayer can be described as an act of worship that glorifies God and reinforces our need for Him. Through living a life of prayer, we communicate with the very source of and purpose for our existence. Paul and Silas were confronted by a slave girl possessed by the spirit of divination for many days saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” (Acts 16:17). Apostle Paul rebuked the spirit and it immediately set the girl free, to the detriment of her masters from whom they earned a living. Apostle Paul and Silas were later tortured and imprisoned. They did not consider their predicament as anything before God but sort to pray and worship the Lord. Matthew 19:26 says that, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” As Paul and Silas prayed and worshipped, the foundations of the prison shook, the prison doors were opened and all their chains broke loose. Prayer shakes every foundation that is not of God and breaks all oppressive shackles and barriers. Prayer is a powerful weapon that each one of us should utilize, so that we may obtain victory in the Lord; in all circumstances, for the glory and honor of His name.

PRAYER

We give thanks to You Lord for You are good and Your mercies endures forever. We thank You for You have enabled us to see this day in good health, great is Your faithfulness. May You heal all those who are sick and suffering merciful savior. May You shepherd us throughout this week and grant us victory in all things, we humbly beseech You our Lord and God. Nothing is hard for You Jesus, may You break every chain and bar of iron that causes oppression, delay, captivity and hinders our progress. Save us from all forms of oppression and delay, we humbly ask You. May You go before us and level the mountains for us merciful Lord. Mark 11:24 NKJV

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

INSIGHT

-Prayer is a catalyst for divine interference. Faith is the currency that we transact with God in prayer. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith should not be placed on men due to their power, positions, fame or influence, but we are called to trust in God in all situations. Abraham had faith in God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. If then we are made righteousness through faith, our prayers as God’s righteous beloved avail much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. He prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit (James 5:16-18). Jesus taught His disciples saying that, “if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive” (Matthew 21:21-22). We are reminded to apply faith in prayer and God will answer us according to His will.

PRAYER

Abba Father our Lord and God, we exult You and praise Your holy name. You are our Refuge and Strength, there is none like You. You are the great I Am, the great High Priest and sure Foundation, nothing is too hard for You Lord. We come before You today with humility in our hearts asking You for mercy and grace. Great is Your faithfulness dear Jesus. May You forgive us all our transgressions and wash us with Your precious blood dear Jesus. May You deliverus from unbelief and grant us Your gifts and fruit. You are Great and greatly to be praised and adored. You are faithful dear God may You increase our faith we humbly ask You that we may pray without doubting Your power to execute Your purposes for our lives. May You strengthen us that we may always be faithful to You and be fruitful in our work and purposes. May You guide us in all our ways and protect us in our coming in and going out, dear Jesus. We humbly ask You to hear us and answer all our prayers and supplications according to Your will. May You answer our hearts desires and make all our plans succeed. May You fill us with power like Elijah and enable us to optimize our potential in our calling for the glory and honor of Your name. Bless us dear Jesus and increase our territories. May You open many doors and divine opportunities, and expand our economy Abba Father. May You renew our minds and grant us Your divine favor we humbly beseech You. May You bless our president and touch his heart with Your truth. May You give him wisdom together with his entire leadership that they may do Your will for Your people dear Jesus. We pray for the purpose for which You have chosen him that it may prevail in this nation of Kenya and many nations of the world. May Your revival take place in our nations and many nations for You glory Lord. Grant that many people among us may know You and come to You. You are the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father apart from by You dear Jesus. Grant that our children, relatives, friends, colleagues, leaders and the entire world may come to You. We love You dear Jesus, thank You for loving us first. You are worthy Lord to receive glory, honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being. Oh God of all creation, bless this our land and nation, may justice be our shield and defender, may we dwell in unity, peace and liberty, may peace be found within our borders. Amen

Ezekiel 37:3-5 NKJV

“And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.” Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.”

INSIGHT

-There is a direct linkage between prayer and prophecy mediated by our level of faith in God. When declarations are made, the tongue becomes a powerful organ that either prophesies life or death, and we eat the fruits thereof (Proverbs 18:21). Prophet Ezekiel declared life to the dry bones. When the Lord ask him whether the dry bones could live, he did not show any indication of doubt but he responded saying, “O Lord, God, You know”. Some have trusted in prophets more than the word of God. We should realize that we can prophecy to ourselves, families, nations, environment and any situation, through the word of God which is living and powerful. Like Ezekiel who prophesied and dry bones came to life, we are called to prophecy upon any dry or dead situation in our lives, families, society, churches, education and nation, and they will have life.

PRAYER

Your word Lord is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; judging the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Your word gives light and understanding to the simple. May Your light shine in our hearts, homes, family, businesses, societies, schools, churches and nation, and resuscitate every dead situation. We declare that we shall not die but live to proclaim Your goodness Oh Lord. We shall not die before our time. We declare that long life is our portion in Jesus name. We declare prosperity upon our lives, families and nation. May You save us Lord and send Your prosperity now in Jesus name. We shall be victorious in every aspect of our lives. We shall be in good health of body, soul and spirit. We are the chosen of the Lord and we shall reign on the earth. The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth You have given to mankind. We are more than conquerors in You Jesus Christ. We are blessed of You Lord and we will live victoriously upon the land in You Christ Jesus. Thank You for Your loving kindness and grace Oh Lord. All glory, honor, power, grace and strength belongs to You Lord, now and forever. Amen

Matthew 18:19 NKJV

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

INSIGHT

-Unity in prayer is powerful. We have a witness in Christ and the Holy Spirit Who lives in us, and as we pray whatever we agree on earth is sealed in heaven by God our Father. It is vital to agree with the truth in God’s word as we pray in the secret place, which is answered in the open. Also to pray in the unity of believers is encouraged, for whenever we are united whatever we decide to do cannot be hindered from us. God is calling us to be in one mind and speak in one voice so that we may glorify God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 15:6).

PRAYER

Abba Father we appreciate You for You are our God. You are our everlasting Master. We bless Your holy name. Thank You God for You have never left us orphaned but You have given us the Holy Spirit. You are our all in all, how great are You in all the heavens and the earth. We thank You for the peace that You have given us in our hearts, our families, our relationships and nation. May Your peace which surpasses all human understanding reach all the nations of the world. You are God and there is none like You. May You unite us with codes of love that cannot be broken. May You teach us pray effectively so that we may not pray amiss only to satisfy our pleasures. May Your wisdom be found in our minds, speech and all our actions. May You answer our hearts desires dear Jesus and make all our plans succeed according to Your holy will. May open many doors of opportunity for us to prosper and be in good health. Our Father who art in heaven; hallowed be Your name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil; for thine is the Kingdom the power and the glory; forever and ever. Amen

Matthew 9:38 NKJV

“Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

INSIGHT

-Often times have we heard that revival is coming, and surely it is here with us. We know that Kenya is the springboard for revival in Africa. We are called to pray for this very purpose to come to pass in God’s time and His design. When God releases His grace of salvation, it requires that we pray also that He touches the hearts of men and women who are called to be laborers into His harvest.

SUMMARY

Prayer provides a sure way of communicating with God our Father and Maker. A concoction of prayer and worship ensures that we invite God’s presence and experience His supernatural power. Paul and Silas while in prison worshiped and prayed to God, and the shackles of all the prisoners were loosed. Prayer of agreement emboldens the participants to travail in prayer with high expectation as God is present with us. When we are united in prayer with the Holy Spirit and Christ, God our Father in heaven answers us. Prayer is a catalyst for divine interference, and faith activates its manifestation. When we pray we must believe and not doubt, because if we doubt it’s like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind (James 1:6). Prophet Ezekiel did not doubt when the Lord asked him whether the dry bones would live. He trusted in God saying, “O Lord God, You know.” The Lord used him powerfully to prophecy to the dry bones and they came to life (Ezekiel 37:3-5). God is calling us to be prophetic intercessors, and declare that which is not; to live by faith. When we make prophetic declarations, we submit to the authority of Christ through His true word and we see results by faith. God is also calling us to pray for the reveal is here with us, that He may send laborers into the harvest, that His will may be done on earth as it is in heaven.

PRAYER

Lord You are our Lord and King, our Good Shepherd, we exult Your holy name. We raise Your banner in worship to You for You have done great things in our lives, families and nation, great is Your faithfulness. You are our Lord and Savior, we glorify Your name. May You bless our school going children and protect them. May You remember all the street families that You may make a way for them even where there seems to be no way. May You release a special blessing upon us, our nation and all the people that You may grant us the grace to pray as You prosper us in every area. We pray for the leadership of this nation that You may instruct them in Your divine wisdom. We pray that You may send laborers into the harvest, for the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. May You use us for Your kingdom advancement dear Jesus. You are the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through You. May You call every soul into the Door to salvation we humbly beseech You dear Jesus. May You break every chain and release Your power upon us so that we may function optimally for the glory and honor of Your name. May You bless us and keep us Lord. May You make Your face shine upon us and be gracious to us. May You lift up Your countenance upon us and give us peace. Amen
