Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

INSIGHT

-It is important to differentiate between God’s plans and the plans of man. Proverbs 16:9 reveals to us that, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.” We all have plans for our lives but it is the Lord who establishes our steps. God knew us before the foundation’s of this world and predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will. God has a road map for our lives and we should put all our trust in Him. The plans of God are everlasting and they cannot be altered. Since He has good plans for us, to bring us prosperity and not harm, to give us hope and a future. God loves us so much and has good plans for us, let us not grow weary in our walk of faith.

PRAYER

Thank You Father for enabling us to see this new day in perfect peace. This is the day that You have made, we rejoice and are glad in it. Thank You for the plans You have for us Lord, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. All our hope and trust is in You Jesus. May all Your plans Lord come to pass in our lives, families, nation and all the nations of the world at Your appointed time. Only You can make everything beautiful at Your time. May Your will be done in the United State of America, for the glory of Your name. All our hope and trust is in You Jesus. Shepherd us Jesus according to Your will and make all our plans succeed according to the riches of Your glory. Every plan of the enemy against our prosperity is defeated by Your blood Jesus. We are more than conquerors in You Jesus, all our hope and trust is in You. We glorify and praise Your holy name. Remember all those who are sick and suffering in hospital and at home that You may heal them for by Your stripes we were healed. Be with all the street families and all those who have lost hope in life that You may renew their strength and fill their hearts with love. Remember all our children that You settle their hearts with Your perfect peace and joy, wherever they are. We humbly come at Your feet asking for mercy. Forgive us all our sins and deliver us from all unrighteousness. Lord You are good and Your mercies endures forever. Father You are merciful and Your grace is everlasting. Holy Spirit You are faithful and Your faithfulness endures to all generations. Thank You for Loving us Father and making us Your children through Christ Jesus. All our hope and trust is in You. Amen

Romans 8:28-30

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.”

INSIGHT

-The Lord has entrusted each one of us with a purpose to accomplish on earth and His plans are perfect. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”. God knew us and formed us as His masterpiece to accomplish the assignments given to us through love. He called us and justified us by the precious blood of Jesus and has glorified our spirits as we await the final glorification of our bodies as Christ returns. We should therefore rest in the Lord for all things work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. The Lord is Spirit and we should always be in the spirit as we are called according to His purpose. We are called to worship Him in spirit and in truth, pray without ceasing, meditate on His word day and night and He will lead us according to His purpose.

PRAYER

Lord You are our Strength and Defense; our Salvation, we worship You. You are our Lord and Savior, we Praise Your holy name. You are our Father and Friend, we exalt You. Surely goodness and love shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in Your house forever. Thank You Lord for Your love upon our lives. You love overtakes us Father. Your love overwhelms us Father. We surrender all to You Father, we cannot do anything without You. We are nothing without You, show us Your way and reveal Your purpose in our lives, families, churches and nation. May we live according to Your plans each day, show us Your way of truth. Our lives belong to You Lord, our lives are not our own, we surrender all to You. Work in us Holy Spirit Your good works and perfect us according to Your will. Light the fire of Your love in us, that many may see and glorify Your holy name. Thank You for blessing us with different gifts and talents. Help us understand how to cultivate them and bring glory to Your holy name. Amen

2 Peter 3:9

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

INSIGHT

-In this chapter apostle Peter responds to the mocking of false teachers working among the Christians in the early church. They ask, “Where is this coming Jesus promised?” They teach that it’s been too long and Christ is not coming. Also don’t resist immorality and there will be no judgment. In verse 8, Peter points out that the Lord is not bound by human time. For to God, a thousand years is like a day and a day like a thousand years. God does not suffer the limitations of time, or confusion about it, the way human beings do. We learn that we cannot apply human demands about time to the promises of God. God is not slow in keeping His promise. He is the one who made the schedule and cannot be late. God keeps every promise at the perfect time for the glory of His name, and for the good of those He loves. Jesus is coming soon, and His purpose is that everyone should come to repentance. This is God’s plan to allow more people opportunity to place their trust in Christ in order to enter into an eternal relationship with Him. God doesn’t want anyone to perish but that everyone should be saved, for Christ died for our sins. We are called to return to God with sincere repentance for His grace is sufficient for us. We should then continually glorify the Lord for His lavish love and grace upon us and the redemption through His precious blood (Ephesians 1:7).

PRAYER

Your plans Lord are everlasting and Your unfailing love endures to all generations. Thank You Father for loving us and for giving us Your Only begotten Son for our salvation. Forgive us our sins and cleanse us by Your precious blood, merciful Father. Write our names in the Lambs book of life and bring us life everlasting we humbly beseech You. Grant the gift of salvation to all those who do not know You and strengthen their faith in You. Your eyes Lord are on those who fear You, on those whose hope is in Your unfailing love, to deliver us from death and keep us alive in famine dear Jesus. We wait in hope for You Lord; our Help and Shield. Our hearts rejoice in You forever as we trust in Your holy name. May Your unfailing love be with us Lord, even as we put our hope in You. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen

Hebrews 13:20-21

“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”

INSIGHT

-Apostle Paul delivers his final exhortations to the Hebrews. He prays for their peace and the grace of God to shepherd them in every good work as it is the will of God. At the beginning of this chapter, Paul instructs them to keep loving one another. The chapter may seem rather inclined to acts of love that are led by our good Shepherd Jesus Christ, to make us complete in every good work by His blood. The summary of these applications to Christians that they ought to have faith in God and choose to obey Him, even during times of struggle. To also show hospitality to strangers, visit and pray for prisoners, pray for those who are mistreated, remain pure in marriage and shun away from sexual immorality, refrain from the love of money, keep away from strange teachings and submit to the authorities, by the grace of God. Jesus is our good Shepherd and we are His sheep. We are always called to hear His voice and follow Him. Since His plans for us are perfect, we should have confidence that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).

PRAYER

LORD You are my shepherd, I shall not be in want. You make me lie down in green pastures. You lead me beside quiet waters. You restore my soul. You guide me in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Your house LORD, forever. Thank You for Your love and saving grace upon our lives. We humbly ask You to grant peace and direction to all those who are in prison. Be with all the children living in the streets that Your saving grace may always be upon them. Remember with mercy all those who have lost jobs and business opportunities especially during time of COVID_19 that You may open many new doors for them. Be with all those who are sick, suffering and those who are bereaved that Your peace may always surround them. Be with our leaders both political and religious that their policies may only be governed by Your truth. Strengthen us Lord when we are facing trials and tribulations, by Your grace. Work in us every wok of salvation and lead us in the way we should go. Help us to love You Father and one another as ourselves, and make us complete in every good work that we may always be pleasing in Your sight, for the glory of Your name. Your plans are perfect in our lives Jesus, may our purposes bring honor to Your name. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forevermore. Amen

2 Corinthians 5:5

“Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come”.

INSIGHT

-God has an eternal plan for our lives founded on love. He loved us so much that He gave us His only begotten Son that we may believe in Him and have eternal life. Sometimes we try to look for love from other people, things, work, money, wealth and power but we don’t seem to find it. We are called to rely on God’s love, for us His love is unconditional and nothing can separate us from His love. Other times we face tribulations and challenges, trouble and hardship, famine and nakedness, danger and sword, but God’s love for us still stands. God has a good plan for our lives and has given us His Holy Spirit that we may always dwell in love, for God is love. The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Helper, Counselor, Strengthener and He intercedes for us with groanings that cannot be uttered. He is our deposit, guaranteeing that we have eternal life through Christ Jesus. If He raised Jesus from the dead, He will also raise us from the dead even if we sleep, and this is the sure hope of our faith in Him.

SUMMARY
God’s plans for our lives are perfect and eternal. First we see that, God has a predestined will or plan for our lives which is irresistible, unchangeable and unconditional. God knew about us before we were born and His will for us cannot be changed. We see the birth of Jesus, for instance; which was predestined before the foundations of the world. God foreknew us, predestined us to be conformed to the image of His Son Jesus Christ, called us, justified us and glorified our spirits as we await the final glorification of our bodies during Christ’s second coming. Secondly, God also has a moral will for us. He does not want anyone to perish but all to come to repentance. He is not slack in His promises but long-suffering and His love for us endures forever. Thirdly, God has a desired will for our lives. He desires that we all come to know Him and have faith in Him through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He calls us to put all our trust in Him for all things works for the good of those who love Him and have been called according to His purpose. God also desires that we are baptized, we receive the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit, we forgive one another, we pray about everything, we praise Him in spirit and in truth etc. God’s desired will encompasses all of our lives. Lastly, God has an eternal plan for our lives. He loved us so much that He gave us His only begotten Son that we may believe in Him and have eternal life. His salvation plan is founded on love and He calls us to love Him and our neighbors as ourselves. Through His eternal covenant He has made us complete in every good work that we may always do His will and be pleasing in His sight. We know that all things work for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Let us not grow weary in our walk with God or doubt His power in our lives but always trust in Him for He is our Rock and Salvation. Other things may perish but His love and promises for us will always stand. Our own plans may fail but His purpose for our lives will come to pass. Let us always remember that God has good plans for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future.
