Genesis 50:25
Then Joseph took an oath from the children of Israel, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.”
INSIGHT -In Hebrew bone is written as etsem & it means same, pains, limps, root numerous, powerful, strong,
-In Exodus 13:19, Moses took the bones of Joseph as the children of Israel had promised. The bones were buried in Shechem (North of Jerusalem & promised land (Gen 12:6-7)) in a plot of land which Jacob bought from Hamor; father of Shechem & became an inheritance of the children of Joseph (Joshua 24:32). Most of the descendants of Abraham were buried in this area including kings. After Jesus died the saints resurrected & went to the holy city (Mat 27:52-53).
PRAYER We thank You Lord our Father for we have started a new week in good health. May Your word impart new wisdom in us & shape our way of thinking. May Your peace that surpassed all understanding be felt all over the world. Amen
Proverbs 12:4
An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.
INSIGHT -In Gen 2:22-23, God made a woman from man’s rib & brought her to him. Adam said “this is bone of my bone & flesh of my flesh” since she was taken from man. Just as church is the bride of Christ, the woman should be virtuous (prov 31:10-31) & the two are united by Him in marriage. The family is upheld in the peace & prosperity of Christ when the couple dwells in His word.
PRAYER You ordained the family unit Father, under Your leadership. Lead all families in the world by Your peace & prosperity, especially those that are at the verge of divorce. Guide all the youth who are yet to engage in marriage & lead them with Your eye as they come to that resolve. Amen
Psalm 34:19-20
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.
INSIGHT
-The righteous have many trials but the Lord rescues them & safeguards their entire body structures & souls.
-In John 19:36, For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be broken.”
-When Jesus was crucified, none on His bones was broken unlike the other two men crucified by His sides. Thus the scripture fulfilled.
PRAYER
Thank You Father, for the gift of life & good health. Hear the cry of all those who are sick & suffering; be with them at their time of need. Lead us not into temptations & deliver us from all evil. Hear the prayers & supplications in our hearts & help us. Amen
Ezekiel 37:7
So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.
INSIGHT
-Prophet Ezekiel saw a vision of a valley of dry bones. When he prophesied Gods word, the each bones was joined to the other in its respective frame, flesh was formed, skin came to place & after another prophecy, the bodies came to life supernaturally. This was a picture of hope & restoration for the Israelites.
-In John 11:43, Jesus called unto Lazarus & he lived.
-When we believe in Gods word; all things are possible.
PRAYER
We believe in Your everlasting power Father in our lives, even in the most difficult situation that we might face. With You all things are possible. Hear our humble cry today & fulfill the desires of our hearts. Amen
Ephesians 5:30
For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
INSIGHT
-In 1 Cor 12:27, Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. Just as the church is the bride of Christ, a man should love his wife & the woman respect him.
SUMMARY
-Moses took Joseph’s bones as the children of Israel had promised & buried them in Shechem.
-Since Eve was formed from Adam, they were of the same flesh & bone. Man & woman are of the same bone thus a woman should be virtuous not to cause rottenness to the man’s bones.
-The Lord guards the righteous & their bones will never be broken. This scripture was fulfilled when Jesus was crucified & His bones were not broken.
-In prophet Ezekiel’s vision, he prophesied & the dry bones came to life. This was a sign of hope & restoration for the Israelites.
PRAYER
We thank You Jesus, for Your everlasting love upon us. Thank You for uniting us in love through the family unit. Bless all the families in the world & aid those who are at the verge of divorce. Chasten those who are in celibacy & service to the church. Guide all those who are yet to be united in marriage, that they may be led in Your wisdom. Amen
