John‬ ‭4:21-26‬ ‭

“Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”

INSIGHT
-Jesus had an interaction with the Samaritan woman and interrogated her thoughts. Even though Jews were not supposed to communicate with Samaritans, Jesus broke that barrier and asked for water. The Samaritans believed that water from the well of Jacob, where she was drawing from was sacred, but Jesus promised her living water that springs forth into everlasting life. Jesus also disclosed some secrets regarding her marital status and the Samaritan woman discerned that Jesus was a prophet. Some among us including the Islamic religion have only interacted with Jesus Christ as a prophet, and are yet to experience His power of resurrection and gift of eternal life. They believe in worshipping God from certain places like Mecca, but Jesus calls all people and nations to break religious barriers, and worship Him in spirit and in truth. The Samaritan woman left her water pot and went into the city of Samaria to witness Christ. Jesus stayed with them for two days and many of them believed in Him. Jesus is calling us all to believe in Him, and He will give us the gift of eternal life. When we believe in Jesus, He outpours the Holy Spirit in our hearts and we are able to experience true worship, and His precious gift of salvation.

Romans‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭

“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

INSIGHT
-Believing in Jesus Christ causes justification resulting to righteousness. Romans‬ ‭5:1-2‬ ‭tells us that, we have been justified by faith, and we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through whom we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Justification which is a declaration of holiness through the process of sanctification and results to glorification, which is the hope of all who are in Christ. In Christ we are a new creation as the we leave the old behind and all things become new. We then confess our belief in the truth of Christ unto salvation.

PRAYER
Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples. We sing to You Lord among all the people and the nations. We praise Your name in all the heavens and the earth. 1 Thessalonians 2:13

“And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.”

INSIGHT

-The Holy Spirit  comes and dwells in us who believe in Jesus Christ. He teaches us all things and reminds us everything about the word of God (John 14:26). The word of God is therefore alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; judging the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrew 4:12). The word of God works in us who believe through the power of the Holy Spirit to teach, rebuke, correct and train us in righteousness, so that as servant of God we may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). We therefore remain in an attitude of thanksgiving and praise, doing everything without grumbling as we are transformed daily to become pure and blameless in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER

Your word Lord is a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths. Your word Lord gives light and understanding to the simple. We believe and trust in Jesus and word of truth. In You Holy Spirit we live, move and have our being. In You alone do we put our trust. May You teach us to abide in You and Your word. May You train us in Your word of life. May You train our children in Your word that they may never depart from it. We believe in You dear Jesus and trust in You. Your name is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe. We run to You dear Jesus may You hear us and answer our hearts desires. May You heal our nation from corruption, idolatry, slavery, murders and injustice. May You grant us leaders who will hear Your word and perform it, by Your grace. We praise You dear Jesus and believe in You now and forever. Amen

Mark 11:24

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

INSIGHT

-Believing in Jesus Christ is having faith in His power working in us and through us. When we pray, we need to believe that we have received what we are ask for in prayer. As believers, we live by faith and not by sight, and as we pray the Lord responds to our requests. A prayer of faith requires that we have hope in the things not yet seen as though they were. We are reminded that when we pray, we should put away all doubt, and trust in God who did great and mighty deeds in the Biblical times, and still does them today. As we interact with God’s divine nature, we realize that sometimes His responses are either yes, no or wait according to His will. Whatever His response, we know that God has good plans for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We are also reminded that before we go to the Lord in prayer He already knows what we need and therefore we should be encouraged that He is ready and willing to do that which we ask for Him in His name (Matthew 6:8). Truly faith is the key to pleasing God and He rewards those who seek Him earnestly. Therefore, let us continue fervently in prayer of faith for He is a faithful God and our fervent prayer shall truly avail much. Let us be like the woman who kept on knocking at the door of the judge and eventually the judge opened the door to fulfill her petition. This woman had faith and her request was answered, even as she kept knocking at the door faithfully. Therefore, let us not grow weary of taking our burdens and needs to God, for He will surely answer us for nothing is difficult with Him, and His faithfulness endures forever.

PRAYER

Dear Almighty Father, we worship and praise You today for You have been a good God. You are a faithful Father even as we become faithless. We exalt You and enthrone You today in our lives. There is no one like You dear Jesus and none can be likened to You. You are the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. You are worthy of all our worship. You are the same yesterday, today and forever, and what You did in the past You are able to do unto us. May You answer our prayers and hearts desires Abba Father. May You increase our faith and help us to trust in You more and more. We put all our trust and hope in You knowing that You are a God who hears and answers our prayers. We commit our lives unto You and pray that You will forgive our sins and wash us with Your precious blood dear Jesus. May You remember our families, marriages, relationships and nation that You keep us united in You Christ Jesus. May You provide for all who lack and are in need. Father may You heal the broken hearted and the sick in our society. May You pour out Your rain of abundance and restoration in our nation and our economy that all shall be well. We know You know our needs dear Jesus even before we ask of You. We pray this believing and trusting in Jesus mighty name. Amen

Acts 16:31

“So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

INSIGHT

-Salvation from the beginning has been structured by design to capture an entire household. Cornelius a devout man was dedicated to serve God by praying always and giving alms. Even as he did that, the Lord remembered him and sent Peter to minister to him and his household. When Peter was still speaking the word of God, the Holy Spirit fell upon all the hearers including the Gentiles and they believed (Acts 10:44-45).

SUMMARY

There is immense power available to those who believe in Jesus Christ. Once the word of God is preached, Jesus opens the heart of the hearer to accept it and believe in Him. Jesus Christ is the Door to eternal life and He makes His gift of salvation available to those He chooses according to His merciful love. John the Baptist preached the message of baptism, by making straight the way for Jesus to come. Since Jesus has already come, we now believe in His death and resurrection, and by so doing we believe in Him and His word. The famous scripture John 3:16-18 reveals the truth, that whoever believes in Jesus Christ has eternal life but whoever does not believe is condemned. The Ethiopian Eunuch struggled reading scripture from the book of Isaiah, and the Lord sent Philip to reveal the message of salvation. The Eunuch was baptized and the Holy Spirit infilled him (Acts 8:26-40). The Samaritan woman, oblivious of the fact that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, she never expected Him, a Jew to speak to her, and offered Him drinking water. Jesus revealed that He is the living water and when she drinks she will never thirst. Jesus calls us to believe in Him and rivers of living water will flow from our hearts. He Holy Spirit then guides us, leads us and teaches us all things. He is our Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, and Strengthener (John 14:26).

PRAYER

Dear Holy Spirit, You are our Strength and Comforter. May You comfort us and strengthen us when we are weak. You are our Advocate and Intercessor. May You intercede for us with groanings that cannot be uttered.  We humbly ask You to wash away our sins, sins of our forefathers, sins of our families, sins of our leaders and those of our nation. May You purity our hearts and minds with Your precious blood. May You open the eyes of our understanding that we may be enlightened in every area of our lives. May You open the eyes of our hearts that we may see You as You are dear Jesus. May You give us, and our households access to Your salvation power that You may experience You in the hope of our calling and believe in You now and forever. May You bless us Lord and increase us. May You make Your face to shine upon us and be gracious to us. May You turn Your countenance towards us and give us peace. Amen
