John 14:25-26 NKJV

These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

INSIGHT

-Helper in Greek is Parakletos which means One who comes alongside to help. Just like Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit is our Helper, as John 14:16 puts it, another Helper, who will abide by us forever. The Holy Spirit came to abide with us after the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ who has come in His name. The Helper comforts us, deepens our understanding and guides us in ministry work and all other matters for the glory of God.

PRAYER

We praise You O Lord with all our hearts and tell of all Your marvelous works. We are glad and rejoice in You and sing praise to Your name, O Most High God. Thank You for enabling us to see this new week and granting us the grace of life. We know that many have passed on before us, but it is by Your mercy and grace that we are alive today. Your word says that a live dog is better than a dead lion since it has hope for a better day, we have hope in You Holy Spirit. In You we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to Your purpose for You work all things according to the counsel of Your will as we have hope in You. Thank You for sealing us with You word of truth, the gospel of salvation, and believed in Christ Jesus, as we have been sealed by You Holy Spirit our inheritance guarantee for the glory and honor of Your name Lord. May You help us in our weakness, encourage us shortcoming, empower us purposes and guide us in all things precious Holy Spirit. Amen

Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”

INSIGHT

The great commission confirms that the Holy Spirit is God, just like the Father and the Son. The Trinitarian formula suggests the Holy Spirit is Sovereign and part of the Godhead. The Holy Spirit is Divine and believers are baptized in the name of the God the Father, Son and Spirit. Peter warned Ananias who had lied to the Holy Spirit and confirms that he had not lied to men but to God (Acts 5:3-4). The Holy Spirit is Omnipresent, and none can flee from His presence (Psalms 139:7). We should always desire to be in the presence of the Holy Spirit and avoid any chance of grieving Him.

PRAYER

You are God, Holy Spirit, we honor You are bless Your Holy name. We desire Your presence every day and each second. We desire more and more of You. Where we have disobeyed You, grieved You, ignored You, may You forgive us. May You sanctify us body, soul and spirit. May You enlighten our hearts and our minds to have our focus on You and to meditate on Your word day and night. May You help us to move in step with You Holy Spirit always and to be empowered in the purposes for which You have called us. We give You praise, and we honor You, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen

John 16:8-11 NKJV

“And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.”

INSIGHT

The Greek word for convict is katadikázo which means to expose, refute, or bring to light. The Holy Spirit brings inner awareness and understanding of truth, especially regarding sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit’s work in the world, emphasizing the three key areas exposing sin, especially those who have rejected Jesus, righteousness as Jesus Christ died for our sin, resurrected, and He is risen for our victory, and judgement which is the condemnation of those who did not believe in Jesus together with Satan, the prince of the world who deceived people to fall into sin.

PRAYER

Precious Holy Spirit, we worship You and exult Your holy name. You are the One who convicts us to sin, righteousness, and judgement may You have mercy on us. May You forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. May You transform us daily and guide us in the path of eternal life our Righteous Judge. May You grant the whole world Your true salvation dear Lord Jesus and shine in us Your light that redeems and restores. We honor You and give You praise, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen

Romans 8:26-28 NIV

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

INSIGHT

The Holy Spirit intercedes for believers in our weakness, even when we do not know how to pray. Matthew 6:8 tells us that God knows what we need before we ask Him. He intercedes for us with words that cannot be spoken or edicts that cannot be expressed in human language. God’s purposeful work in the lives of us who love Him, even amidst our suffering. The Holy Spirit assures us that He works all things for good for us who love Him and are called in accordance to His purposes. Amidst the challenges that we are faces with the Holy Spirit cares for us, He loves us and prays for us and our well-being and calls us to rely on Him and trust in Him.

PRAYER

We love You Lord, thank You for loving us first. Thank You Precious Holy Spirit for praying for us in our weakness even when we do not know how to pray. We need You Holy Spirit during these perilous times that You may hear our hearts desires. May You protect us from all evil, provide for us and our families, heal us, guide us and do a new thing in our lives and nation. May You do only that which You can do for nothing is impossible for You and with You precious Holy Spirit. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, may You help us in every situation, we trust in You. Amen

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 NKJV

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

INSIGHT

The Holy Spirit grants us freedom once we believe in Jesus Christ and allow Him to indwell and infill us. As believers we receive a new heart and a new way of life, one that is not governed by the world and the law of Moses where the vail was mandatory but by the principles of the kingdom of God founded on the grace of God causing transformation. The Holy Spirit breaks every addiction, heals every disease, and releases immense blessings and power for believers to function effectively in His kingdom.

SUMMARY

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity. He is fully divine and co-equal to God the Father and God the Son (Jesus Christ). He plays a vital role in the life of believers and the church. It is paramount for the everyone to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, just like Jesus relied on Him fully during His life and ministry. The Holy Spirit is our Helper (John 14:25-26). He helps us in our weakness and when we do not know what we ought to pray He intercedes for us through wordless groans (Romans 8:26-28). The Holy Spirit convicts the world to sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:8-11). He lives within believers, making us His temple (1 Corinthians 6:19). The Holy Spirit sanctifies us and fills us with His fruit (Galatians 5:22–23). He empowers us with His spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12) and boldness to witness (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit teaches us and guides us into all truth (John 14:26; John 16:13).

PRAYER

You are wonderful and excellent precious Holy Spirit. You are lifted above every other idol and god in the heavens and the earth. You are enough for us, we need You always in our lives. You Holy Spirit in us are greater than who is in the world. May You indwell in us and help us just like You helped Jesus during His life and ministry. May You help us and intercede for us with groaning that cannot be uttered. May You lead us and guide us in all things and into all truth. May You sanctify us body, soul and spirit, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. May You make our temples clean by Your mercy and love, and grant us victory in all spheres of our lives. May You our God of peace, sanctify us through and through body, soul and spirit and keep us blameless at Your coming dear Lord Jesus Christ. May You grant Your true salvation to us and all people dear merciful Savior. Lord may You do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask of or think of according to the power that is at work in us. Lord we trust in You and exalt You. We believe that You are able to do more than we can think of or imagine. We believe that we shall be extremely fruitful since we abide in You and You in us. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in Your house forever. May You bless us and keep us loving Father, may You shine Your face upon us and be gracious to us. May You lift up Your countenance towards us and give us peace. Amen
