THEME: PERFECT GOD
Mark 10:18-19 NKJV
“So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ”
INSIGHT
–Jesus demystifies the value of submission to God and the imperfections of man given to law. Jesus reveals that only God is good and able to help us in our daily walk of faith to overcome temptations. We are called to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in us both to will and to do for His good pleasure (Philippians 2:12-13). This requires transformation by a renewal of the mind, so that we may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2).
SUMMARY
God is Perfect and calls us to be perfect (Matthew 5:48). Perfection is attained through our faithful walk with God knowing that He is always with us and He will never leave us nor forsake us. The Lord perfects that which concerns us for His mercies endures forever (Psalms 138:8). God’s works are perfect and His ways are justice (Deuteronomy 32:3-4). God can do all things; no purpose of His can be thwarted (Job 42:2).
PRAYER
God You are Great and greatly to be praised. God You are our great High Priest our sure foundation, the One who was, who is and who is to come. You are awesome in wonder, You are our great Judge, the Holy One who we trust, honor and adore. In Your Light we find light. We come boldly to Your throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Lord may You have mercy upon us, may You open double doors for us to prosper and succeed in every sphere and every way for You are our God, You are with us, He will never leave us nor forsake us. May the Lord bless us and keep us, may He make His face to shine upon us and be gracious unto us, may You show His countenance towards us and grant us peace. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forevermore. Amen
