THEME: NATIONAL PRAYERS

Acts 17:26 NKJV

“And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,”

INSIGHT

–Apostle Paul tracing all civilizations back to one blood that is Adam, and demonstrates that there is no master race, all human beings possess equal dignity, value, and biological ancestry. The first man Adam became a living being. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45). Jesus Christ (the last Adam) shed His blood for us in the forgiveness of our sins, we have freedom, power and dominion in His name. Jesus is calling us to be united in Him as one people and nation of believers through the bonds of peace.

SUMMARY

It is the duty of every believer to pray for the nation. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 reminds us that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving should be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. We are called to come with humility, pray and seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways and the Lord will forgive our sins and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14-15). When we seek the peace of the nation, we will also have peace (Jeremiah 29:7). Finally when we have the righteous in leadership the people rejoice and when the wicked rule the people groan (Proverbs 29:2).  

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father we thank You for the gift of life. We thank You for Your mercies that are new each morning. We thank You for Your love and grace upon us. May Your mercies come before judgement in our lives, families, communities, county and country. May You heal our land and empower us to do Your will always. May You reign in our nation, in the three arms of government, the judiciary, executive and parliament. May You release every us from debt and supply all our needs including every opportunity, payment and pending bills according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. May You grant us Your peace in our country and all the nations that righteousness and justice will be found in each home. We declare that we shall not experience blood shed and killings this June because of the finance bill demonstrations and high fuel prices, protect us dear Jesus. May Your peace dwell with us and in us, the peace that You give us not as the world gives lest we become anxious and troubled. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. Amen
