THEME: OBEDIENCE TO GOD
Genesis 22:1-3 NKJV
“Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.”
INSIGHT
–Abraham was tested by God to go and sacrifice his son Isaac at mount Moriah. He did not ask questions but obeyed unreservedly and without questions. As he was about to kill his son, the Lord showed his a ram and instructed him to stop killing him. He also obeyed and took heed to the voice of God otherwise patial obedience would not be accounted to him for righteousness, all this pointing to Christ.
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus You are merciful and Your mercies endures forever. Lord You are faithful and Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep, O Lord, You preserve man and beast. Lord You tell us that if we are willing and obedient, we shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, we shall be devoured by the sword, may You help us and keep us in Your merciful love. May You forgive us and cleanse us with Your precious blood, though our sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool, thank You for Your love and mercy. May You deliver the orphans, widows, street families and fatherless from their troubles, and answer when they call. May You hear all our prayers and hearts desires. We give You praise dear Lord Jesus. Amen
